Chapter 27 - first argument

Not every moment could be perfect. A small misunderstanding over a missed message led to tension.

"I thought you said you'd be here," Amina said, trying to keep calm.

"I had to help my friend," Leila replied, frustration creeping into her tone.

The silence that followed felt heavy, but the spark of anger quickly gave way to guilt and longing. They didn't speak much that night, but both couldn't stop thinking of each other.
