Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: The Ten Rings Gang

On the dusty Gobi Desert, a convoy of vehicles roared past, kicking up clouds of yellow sand.

"Boss, are we still going to catch those Kashmiri people today?"

The speaker was a small leader of the Ten Rings Gang. Sitting beside him was a bald Central Asian man. He was the person in charge of the Ten Rings in the Afghanistan region and the local leader of the organization.

"Yes. Kashmiri people are not our compatriots. I don't like those ridiculous freedom fighters. Their leader always persecutes his own people," the bald man replied.

He had distinct South Asian features: brown skin, a hooked nose, deep-set eyes, and a pair of brownish-yellow eyes. His smile always carried a sinister feel. He looked exactly like a vulture.

He was one of the leaders responsible for kidnapping Tony Stark. The other leader was a local Afghan terrorist—a bearded Kashmiri man who headed the freedom fighters.

The Ten Rings Gang was not a homegrown group but rather outsiders. It had only been established in Central Asia for about ten years, although they had an even more powerful backer in the East.

However, unless it was absolutely necessary, the bald man had no intention of asking the organization's headquarters for help.

The supreme leader was an extremely busy man, and if he had to rely on headquarters for everything, he would have no value as the regional commander.

Therefore, cooperating with local gangs and terrorist groups was the wisest choice. It was a mutually beneficial arrangement.

For example, the plan to kidnap Tony this time was a joint effort by the two groups. The employer's payment was quite generous, but the risk was also great.

After all, they had to snatch Tony right under the nose of a U.S. military convoy.

Still, for that huge sum of money and the military support from Stark Industries, it was acceptable for the two gangs to take some risks.

On the other side, Natasha drove a jeep through the Gobi Desert, raising plumes of yellow sand.

"According to the news from Barton, this time, in addition to the so-called freedom fighters, the Ten Rings Gang was also involved in the attack on Tony Stark.

The two groups jointly attacked the U.S. military and abducted him. Moreover, the leader of this Ten Rings Gang is an Oriental man named the Mandarin, who possesses mysterious magic.

He's probably the mastermind behind this terrorist incident. Can you withstand magic?"

Ren felt bewildered. The Ten Rings Gang?! What the hell! Isn't this the Marvel movie universe? What kind of ghost is this Ten Rings Gang?

Ren felt a dull ache, although he no longer possessed such a physical sensation. He was now completely confused.

There should not have been a Ten Rings Gang in the movie universe. Even the Mandarin was just an actor playing a fake role.

This already proved that the plot had deviated from its original track. With him as this little butterfly, Ren felt like he was about to take some strong medicine.

Ren remained silent for a long time, then said faintly, "I don't know."

Although his current abilities were much stronger than those of the original Venom species, he had only coexisted with an ordinary person and a super agent.

His abilities were still limited. If he really had to face the Mandarin, Ren felt it was a bit uncertain.

"You don't know?" Natasha asked, a little surprised.

"I've never seen magic, and I haven't absorbed the abilities of other super-powered individuals. This is my weakest period. What can I do?" Ren replied, even though his eyes were naturally white.

"Alright." Natasha shrugged.

The thought of quickly finding super-powered individuals also arose in her mind. However, the most important task now was to rescue Tony Stark first.

Natasha floored the accelerator, increasing her speed again. Due to the strong winds and yellow sand in the Gobi Desert, her jeep and another convoy passed each other at a distance.

In a remote cave in Afghanistan, a refined-looking middle-aged man asked with a hint of unease, "Tony, we don't have much time left. How confident are you?"

The person he was asking was the super mogul the entire world was searching for—the chairman of Stark Industries, Tony Stark.

"Yinsen, I'm almost there. As soon as this big guy is built, we can leave here, and you can reunite with your family!" Tony said as he struggled to adjust a pneumatic valve.

The valve was just a small part of the large construct in front of him.

If they zoomed out, the full picture became clear: a silver-white Iron Man armor stood before Tony and Yinsen.

The armor's construction was crude, possessing a wild beauty. Large chunks of alloy were welded together, with seams only roughly polished and left exposed.

Its somewhat overly bulky size did not give a sense of clumsiness but rather exuded a fierce and powerful aura.

Tony Stark adjusted the pneumatic valve, stood up, and surveyed his new creation. His chest was fitted with a miniaturized arc reactor meant to save his life.

After more than twenty failed attempts this year, under the threat to his life, Tony had finally completed the miniaturization of the arc reactor.

"Yinsen, help me cover the back armor," Tony said as he began putting on the Mark I Iron Man armor.

Due to the lack of adequate equipment, the Mark I had almost no smart devices. In most cases, the equipment had to be manually donned.

"Okay, Tony. Do you think we can do it?" Yinsen covered the Mark I's back armor and, under Tony's guidance, connected several internal pipelines.

"Don't forget, I'm Tony Stark, the most brilliant genius in the entire world." Even while imprisoned, Tony remained full of confidence.

The terrorists' base was very quiet today, as the leaders of both gangs had taken a large number of their men out to capture civilians.

Only a few terrorists remained to guard the base. Tony and Yinsen's preparations had been thorough, so no terrorists discovered their anomaly.

Tony successfully put on the Mark I armor, then said to Dr. Yinsen, "Doctor, stand behind me later. Remember, don't run around.

This armor is made of titanium alloy. Although its strength is not as good as gold-titanium alloy, it should be enough to withstand attacks from ordinary assault rifles."

"Once we get out, I'll provide covering fire. Remember those pickup trucks we saw when we went out before? You find a way to start one, and I'll cover you. We can escape together!"

Tony devised a simple tactic. Dr. Yinsen was a scholar with no combat experience, but he nodded firmly, indicating that he could do it.
