Chapter 320 - Chapter 318: Anomaly

With that, the three of them slumped over, lost consciousness, and fell into a deep sleep.

They were lucky. If it weren't for the fact that this Stelle's fighting style couldn't be too graphic to avoid censorship, their fate certainly wouldn't have been so fortunate.

Stelle cast one last glance at the three on the ground, didn't linger any longer, turned around, and left, quickly disappearing around the corner of the street.

"You're unlucky to have run into me, the Galactic Baseballer. I wish you the best of luck."

...

Stelle hadn't walked far before that familiar sense of unease welled up in her heart once again.

Drip!

A soft sound rang out. Before Stelle could react, a fine drizzle drifted down from the clear sky, striking her shoulders and bringing a bone-chilling coldness.

A trace of chill instantly swept through the entire [Muyun City]. The streets, which were already eerie to begin with, seemed even more ominous under the shroud of rain.

"Damn it, I changed worlds, but I didn't expect to still face the fate of becoming a drowned rat."

Stelle wiped the rainwater from her face, grumbling unhappily, but she didn't stop walking.

But after taking just two steps, she suddenly frowned and came to an abrupt halt. Something was wrong. This rain wasn't right.

And it wasn't just the rain.

Within the bright moonlight, the originally faint red glow had unknowingly become much denser, as if soaked in fresh blood, exuding an eerie aura.

Stelle looked up at the sky, her brows slightly furrowed.

The rain grew heavier, the fine drizzle turning into lines, splashing tiny droplets onto the ground and soaking her clothes.

This world was already filled with strangeness everywhere. How could it suddenly start raining heavily for no reason?

Thinking of this, Stelle shivered all over.

Not daring to hesitate any further, she dashed into a nearby building, slammed the door shut behind her, and sealed out the heavy rain.

Immediately afterward, Stelle began to carefully check herself.

The good news was that there didn't seem to be any problems with her body or skin. It wasn't a liquid that dissolved clothes or caused her body to heat up or burn. The rain seemed to be just ordinary rain.

The bad news was that she was soaked to the bone.

"How unlucky... Come to think of it, could I be overthinking this?"

Stelle stared at the pouring rain outside the window, her heart unsettled. After struggling with the decision for a long time, she decided to play it safe for now.

With that thought, Stelle shook the rainwater from her hair, found a corner to sit down, and simply relaxed completely.

"Bullying me because I don't have an umbrella, huh! Fine, I'll wait and see. I want to see if this rain will ever stop!"

The calm, stagnant waters of [Muyun City] finally welcomed its first disturbance.

It wasn't just Stelle. Some people also chose to hide in buildings to escape the rain.

There were also those, bold or ignorant, who made completely different choices.

Somewhere.

A lithe figure was caught off guard by the sudden downpour, the cold rain instantly soaking through her clothes and feeling cold and sticky against her skin.

She couldn't help but frown, cursing at the sky. "There isn't even a single dark cloud in the sky, so how did it start raining out of nowhere! Is this damn heaven intentionally trying to make things difficult for me?"

But just as her complaint left her lips, a deafening roar exploded, instantly swallowing her voice completely.

"Roar..."

The sound was filled with primitive violence and hunger, making one's scalp tingle.

Mo Xin's body froze instantly, goosebumps crawling all over her back. Panicked, she quickly swept her gaze across the surrounding environment.

The next moment, she pressed the middle and index fingers of her right hand together and, without hesitation, activated her Space Ability. Her figure instantly disappeared from the spot.

In the blink of an eye, her silhouette appeared in the small bedroom of a residential house, and she stumbled slightly before steadying herself.

Almost at the same moment Mo Xin steadied herself, a thundering sound of footsteps exploded in the surrounding rain, dull and dense.

Mo Xin quickly retreated to the corner of the room, holding her swords in both hands, her nerves tightened to the extreme. She focused intently on the movements drawing closer outside, even keeping her breathing extremely light.

After a long while, the movements outside finally subsided. The heavy footsteps completely vanished, leaving only the sound of the pattering rain.

Only then did Mo Xin let out a heavy sigh of relief.

Following that, as her taut nerves relaxed, her delicate body slowly slid down the wall, eventually collapsing onto the cold floor.

Mo Xin raised her hand to wipe away the rainwater mixed with cold sweat from her forehead, her chest still heaving violently. With lingering fear, she muttered, "That scared me to death. I thought I was done for just now. Luckily, I reacted quickly and was a cut above!"

After speaking, she patted her chest, but the corners of her mouth couldn't help but curl into a smile at having survived a disaster.

After resting for a moment and confirming that there was no immediate danger, Mo Xin's taut nerves finally relaxed completely.

She sat slumped on the floor, muttering weakly, "I'm exhausted. I suddenly feel like being a protagonist isn't worth it. Always being on edge, either hiding from monsters or on the way to hide from monsters. How could this be more comfortable than the life of an ordinary person!"

This afternoon, Mo Xin had been sleeping soundly in class when, in a daze, the world spun around her. By the time she came to her senses, she was already in [Muyun City].

Having had experience with the mystic realm, Mo Xin realized her situation instantly.

She had thought that with her small success in cultivation, even if she couldn't sweep through the ages, she at least shouldn't be too pathetic. The reality, however, gave her a hard slap in the face.

Not long after stepping into [Muyun City], she was greeted by countless monsters, baring their fangs and brandishing their claws as they lunged at her. That spectacle almost scared her senseless.

Knowing she couldn't take on a thousand by herself, Mo Xin decisively greased the soles of her feet and turned to run.

"Damn it, 150 minutes! They chased this lady for a full two and a half hours!"

Mo Xin's voice trembled with exasperation. "If you have the guts, don't run! When my Master Yunli arrives, just watch how she skins you all and pulls out your tendons. You're definitely going to have a hard time!"

After finishing her tough talk, she couldn't help but smile bitterly. According to what Director Yan had said before, if one's luck was bad, it would take days just to find the entrance to the mystic realm.

Mo Xin leaned dejectedly against the wall, the cold surface digging painfully into her back. "Even if Master Yunli discovers I'm missing and enters the mystic realm to find me, this [Muyun City] is so large and filled with danger everywhere. Who knows how long she'll have to wait to find me."

However, Mo Xin, possessing a resilient heart, quickly regained her confidence after a brief moment of dejection.

"I am a future Sword Immortal, after all. I haven't even had the chance to show off in front of my sister yet, so how can I stop here!"

With that thought, Mo Xin took advantage of this rare break to engage her brain, which hadn't been used for a long time.

Mo Xin (눈_눈): "Let me think... combined with my super intelligence, perhaps I should use my super power right now..."

"That's right! I don't believe you monsters don't have times when you're alone!"

Mo Xin tightened her grip on her dual swords and rose quickly. But just as she stood up, her body inexplicably went weak, causing her to almost stumble and fall.

Only then did Mo Xin belatedly notice something strange. Her gaze drifted involuntarily to her palms, and she discovered that her fingertips were already trembling slightly, and her grip on the sword hilt had loosened significantly.

"Strange... is it because I've been hiding for too long, leading to exhaustion?"

She had only used her teleportation once just now. By all logic, this amount of exertion shouldn't be anything to her at all, right?

Before she could ponder it further, a familiar roar pierced the curtain of rain once again and reached her ears.
