Chapter 1 - Chapter 0: General Information

The world comprises two main continents and some islands straying from the continents, each comprising their own nation.

The western continent of Crystallia is divided into several regions, each ruled by a noble.

There are many powers within the world, orthodox and not, each reflecting the soul of the wielder. The vast majority of people in Crystallia can use one of the core elemental powers.

These are: Wind, Water, Earth and Fire.

However, a deviant element has arisen known as crystallisation, an extremely potent element that can suppress the others. This element is exclusive to the lineage of the royal family.

In this world, strength is equivalent to status. As such, most of the power belongs to the select few at the top, however, the weak can become strong and power balances may change.

There are several ranks of power:

Apprentice

Learner

Learned

Expert

Elite

Master

Lord

Whilst people can naturally ascend this stairway of power, this is limited to master. The natural and unnatural wielders are differentiated by the Greater Spirits of Wind, Water, Fire and Earth. The chosen of the Greater Spirits will be able to accelerate their advancement through blessings and once they become a master, they can advance further but assimilating the powers of a Greater Spirit into their own body, permitting them to use powers far greater than a master could produce.

There are other spirits, dominants in regions. These are known as lesser spirits and do not particularly have any blessing powers but can however display immense power.

On the other hand, there is one more class of spirits: Primordials.

The Spirits of Creation and Destruction have existed long before the world came to be. In a balance, they've fought each other throughout time. When Creation was winning, the world was thriving. When Destruction gained the upper hand… chosen of Spirits, later called Imperial Vessels, were able to assimilate the powers of Destruction and incarnate it. These wielders of Destruction became known as Emperors who subjugated the world through violence and tyranny. They prospered when death filled the air- so they slaughtered everyone who opposed them.
