Chapter 2 - Chapter 1 : Strong Familiar Energy....

Disclaimer - I don't own Marvel/Disney IP. I am just a humble keyboard warrior. Also, the Chaos Gacha was made by Bronz here. I am just dipping my toe in the water, so to speak.

Brooklyn Bridge, New York City

–?--

"Urgh," He groaned out loud, his head feeling as if it was splitting at the seams, the mere sound of his own groaning enough to send spikes of pain up his spine.

What was happening? Last he could recall, he was standing in the absolute cold, looking at a concrete jungle, waiting for….

TING! Welcome Host! Congratulations on surviving the process!

For surviving a process with an astronomical fatality rate, Silver Ticket X1

His eyes snapped open in panic and confusion as he found himself at lines of text even when his eyes were closed, immediately regretting the decision as the sun's light seemed to be intent on stabbing him right in his eyeballs. Blinking the spots out of his vision, he found himself looking at a cloudy sky.

Even the act of getting up was discomforting as he found himself sitting on ice, and that was not a comfortable experience. Quickly getting up, he immediately had to hold onto the railing for dear life because his head began swimming, due to the hunger? Thirst? Cold? Hypothermia?

He did not know, and was not in the right headspace to figure out. What he did know, however was that, just like last night with that countdown, there was something that was in his vision that followed him no matter where he looked.

Ignoring the people that were walking on the bridge, he held himself upright and looked at the waters that were sure to be freezing, and he flinched as he had to physically push himself from the railing to get the thought of jumping to his death out of his mind.

Unheeding of his internal panic, whatever this thing, this curse was, spoke in his mind this time.

Host discombobulation detected. Initiating basic information package download

He barely muffled a panicked scream, drawing looks of pity and disgust in equal measure as he found himself wondering if he had finally gone mad, if the stress of being dropped in an unknown land with no recourse in sight had finally made him snap, only for a sense of otherworldly calm to banish the panic.

He then winced as he felt information being downloaded straight into his mind, as whatever it was that enforced the calm on his mind worked overtime to suppress his growing panic at what he was learning in real time.

Gacha? Tickets? Reincarnation? Death?

He trembled all over, finally understanding what had happened to him.

He died. How? When? Where? He did not know but he did, and then….he was brought here, to the Marvel Universe.

No explanation as to why he was chosen, or at what point he was dropped off. Just a cosmic decision, taken on his behalf and thrown away like an afterthought in one of the most deadly fictional universes of all time. Except, it was no longer fictional. To him, it was his reality now, and only the curtain of calm on his mind helped him avoid emptying the contents of his already hungry stomach.

Then, there was this Chaos Gacha. A literal gambling mechanism coupled to a system that had omniversal reach, allowing it to give him anything, ranging from a pair of tweezers to the ability to reshape reality as he saw fit, provided he had the corresponding value tickets.

Bronze. Silver. Gold. Platinum. Diamond. Legendary. Mythical. Divine.

Then there were the sub categories like abilities, familiars, items, etc.

He got tickets according to the level of "feats" he performed, whatever that meant. How they were judged, who judged them was not in the basic data packet downloaded straight into his mind, which was yet another distressing point that was not helping his panic.

He just hoped that whatever the system did to calm him down was not like a dam, just holding the panic back, and when the wall disappeared, the panic came crashing down.

He was also informed of the price he paid to get this tutorial, as it was not free. His name, his identity, was taken in exchange for the tutorial process, without any consultation with him whatsoever. Or maybe that did happen but he simply did not have the memories of doing so. Either way, it was incredibly distressing to know that right now, he had no name.

His memories? Blurred but Yes. But his name? His identity? No. Just a blank where his name would be. He couldn't even remember the names of his loved ones from back home. He could remember their existence, but not their names, not their faces. It was…..

Taking a deep breath, he tried to calm himself down, trying to think of only the positives of this, of the good that could come out of it. The thoughts of getting honest to god superpowers, the ability to control his own fate, to never have to worry about his finances or where his life was going, was admittedly tempting.

After what felt like forever but was probably just minutes, he felt calm enough to open his eyes, seeing no one in front of him, which was a relief because he did not know how his social anxiety would take strangers speaking to him.

As soon as he tried to stand up, though, the voice spoke to him once more.

For accepting the existence of the system and the current reality, Bronze Ticket X1

"Brnoze, huh?" He muttered to himself, dusting himself off and taking off towards the city, the New York City. If he could not get feats in the city that was the centre of every single major plot line in the Marvel Universe, then he might as well jump into the river.

As part of the starter pack, Golden Ticket X3

Tutorial complete.

He paused mid stride, as he felt more than saw the three shiny new golden tickets awaiting him, on top of the one silver and one gold he got for the feat of surviving and accepting the situation. The fact that he got three Gold Tickets as part of the tutorial made the loss of his name a little bit more palatable, but even so, the profound sense of loss did not go away.

It was only buried beneath the urge to move and live in this hellscape world because make no mistake, this was hell for powerless people, people who did not have superpowers. Hell, this world rarely ever lets people with superpowers have a happy life.

As part of the information package, he also knew that he could either take the tickets out and manually tear them to get rewards or just think of the action, and it would happen inside the system automatically, just in case he wanted to maintain stealth.

So, he rolled the gacha.

The first to go were the Gold tickets as he hoped to get good rolls for all of them. His understanding of gambling in general told him that it was basically impossible for that to happen, but hey, a man could dream.

Especially since said man did not even have a name and could use some luck to tide things over for a while.

A giant golden wheel with dozens of shining lights on it appeared in his mind as it began rolling at high speeds, too fast to read anything on it, before it slowed down, showing him his first draw.

[Beach Key]

Elite Item

An ornate key that, when turned in a sufficiently large space, creates a portal leading into a pocket dimension that is 10 km x 10 km x 10 km in size that contains a beach that leads into a sea filled with sea life. Perfect for fishing or taking a relaxing vacation. The gate that leads outside the dimension is always open and leads to where the entrance was last opened.

His eyes grew wide, as he barely contained himself from bursting out with laughter right there on the bridge. Instead, he settled on barely contained laughter as he felt his shoulders relax, a giant burden lifted off of them. And in a sense, it was. A large, secure place with food, provided he could fish, was just the thing he needed right now.

He looked down as he felt a heavy weight settle in his palms. He opened it to reveal a large golden ornate key in the shape of a sea anchor. It was not practical by any means, but who cared! It was magic!

Grinning like a loon, he continued walking, as the primary problem of shelter was secured if one condition was fulfilled. It said that the key needed a sufficiently large space, which might be a problem to find, based on how the portal worked.

Did the portal remain open with the key stuck on the surface, if he remained inside the dimension? Or could he just enter the dimension and close the entrance behind him, essentially becoming untouchable to a vast majority of threats on the planet?

A question that could only be answered by trial. Intending on doing just that, he continued to walk as he rolled the gacha once more. With the luck gods shining upon him, he expected a great run once more. The stereotypical sounds of the gacha being rolled filled his ears as he saw the wheel slowing down.

[Ancestry]

Elite Trait

You have some... unique ancestry, your parentage and lineage have changed from mundane or regular to you being the secret child of a great figure, which figure? Who knows, maybe they were a great swordsman or a legendary magician. Once you unlock your lineage ability or talent, this trait gets replaced with it.

Huh. Not as great as the first one but maybe something that could be useful later on? It wouldn't hurt to have some background in this world. Maybe a latent, powerful bloodline? Not immediately useful but might be later on.

Not deterred by the results, he rolled the gacha once more.

[Alcina Dimitrescu]

Elite Familiar

Resident Evil - Alcina is a former feudal lord who was transformed by a bioengineered parasite that fused with her body, granting her extreme regeneration, enhanced physical stats, and shapeshifting. She can also become a grotesque draconic being of great power after consuming enough blood. Although she does require regular intake of blood to function despite not being a vampire. A known cannibal, she views humans as nothing more than playthings or source of food and relishes in their suffering.

And promptly froze in place, recognising the name of the familiar that the Gacha had just granted him. All he knew about her, from ages ago, was that she was some sort of failed experiment, becoming ageless and extremely cruel as she drank people's blood to maintain her health or something, because of some ancient blood related disease.

"Ah, f*ck!" He cursed as he felt the Gacha try to form her, only to halt as he sent panicked thoughts of not letting her out of the system and into the real world. According to the info pack, he knew she was absolutely loyal to him, but even loyalty could only go so far. The familiars would avoid harming their masters directly, obey any directly given orders, but retain their original personality.

And that was a big asterisk for him. He broke out in cold sweat, as he realised the danger he could be in if he let out a vampiric supermonster who was almost a century old and had the experience of politics and ruling over a small kingdom.

Shaking his head, he ignored the slight pressure he felt the longer he did not release her, and hurriedly moved onto the next roll, whilst power walking towards the city. The faster he got into his pocket dimension, the sooner he could release her and lock her down together than Fort Knox because that was a dead ass cannibal in his system's storage.

Rolling the silver ticket, he just hoped for something useful instead of a vampiric nightmare.

[Death Claws]

Common Familiar

Fallout - A bioengineered creature made to be the optimal melee combatant with sharp and durable horns, claws, and fangs. A single Deathclaw can tear apart even a tank and get stronger by absorbing radiation. You get an Alpha Male Deathclaw and a Deathclaw Female that can breed with each other.

He tensed when he saw that it was yet another familiar but sighed in relief once the details were transmitted to him. Not sapient, then. Just sentient bioengineered reptilian predators. Yet another roll that he could not take out and was not immediately useful. Perfect.

Apparently, the gacha lived up to the principles of gambling.

Aaand, there was the pressure. Keeping them contained in the familiar space was not free, it would seem. There was now a dull ache in his mind as he held not just the vampiress back, but also the supersolders. Also, they could breed.

Perfect!

Now positively running to get to the end of the bridge faster, he rolled the gacha for the last time, using the bronze ticket, not having much hope for any useful results.

[Vinelash]

Uncommon Ability

Allows you to create supernaturally strong vines out of your body under your control. The durability, strength, and size of the vines scale with your own energy levels. You can manipulate these vines like second lips to use as whips, grapples, binds, etc. You can also make them sprout thorns using additional energy. Once you stop supplying energy, the vines vanish.

He nearly stumbled and had to actively stop the vines that were going to sprout out of his body to help steady him. He was just so shocked at getting something actually useful from a Bronze ticket that he just stood there like a loon for a few seconds before the dull ache in his mind informed him of the familiars just waiting to be unleashed.

Resisting the urge to experiment with the Vines, he imagined multiple uses for them, with the most immediate being fishing, since he was just about to enter a place that had fish in it, and continued to run.

He needed to find a large enough door, in a secluded enough place, just in case the portal remained open as long as he was inside the pocket dimension, in which case, he might have to find a portal door and take it to a hidden place.

As soon as he entered the city proper, the sound of cars in traffic hit him. That, along with the already increased headache from the familiar space, made him wince as he kept looking for his perfect door.

Now, back home, the noise from the streets would have been so much worse since these people actually followed some rules, but due to the added pressure of the familiars, he was finding it hard to keep walking properly, eventually turning into a brisk stride as he kept looking.

His search brought him to a car dealership of sorts, that was completely open, without a gate in sight. It was also closed for some reason. Might be a holiday. As he walked in, however, he realised that it was a car park as well, with a dealership attached to it, probably because of parking constraints.

Desperate at this point, he walked in, knowing that had it been any other day, he would have been kicked out based on his appearance. Pushing past the cringe, he came upon a small shack of sorts, with no label on it.

He checked all around it and saw no CCTV camera nearby, so after marking it as a potential door, he immediately hightailed it out of there and began his search anew. This could work but it was way too public and basically restricted his movement.

He needed something closed off, preferably an alleyway. He came across some, but none that had a door on the side, right up until he came across a hotel/bar/club.

It was quite early in the morning, so he saw no one near the alley. His face lit up as he saw the back door leading to the dumpster. He also checked and saw no obvious camera pointed at the door.

Anyway, he could find something more secure later on. For now, this was enough.

"Jackpot," he whispered to himself as he retrieved the key from his pockets, held it tight, and, after finding no obvious keyhole, just jammed it into the door. Eyes widening as the key sunk into the door, he smiled in relief as an oval shaped, white outlined, portal appeared in front of him.

Wasting no time, he immediately jumped through, with the key in his hands, and instantly turned around to see the portal closing on its own. He tried to mentally will the portal to open and smiled in glee as it did, showing the same green generic dumpster as before.

Sighing in relief, he felt all the strength leave his body as he collapsed on the sand, the sound of waves hitting the beach further relaxing him. He would have slept right then and there, but he had three headaches waiting to get out.

So, as dreaded as he was, he let the vampiric cannibal out, ready to immediately command her, hoping that he was not manipulated by a century old hag on his first day with his powers.

Green vines, with thorns on their side, instinctively slithered out of his hands, as a bright flash happened in front of his eyes, blinding him for a moment. It was good that he did not bring her out when he was on the bridge.

That was basically a call out sign for SHIELD/HYDRA/FBI/CIA and whatnot to just kidnap and dissect him.
