Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Chapter 4

Leon walks past the wooden wall, ending up on the edge of a dirt/stone path. He takes a right, going deeper into the city. On the way, he passes a small stone rune tablet with leftover magic in it, causing it to be foggy and glow.

Leon touches the tablet, letting his magic flow through it, highlighting the tablet.

"Welcome to Jersey City Mining Co., we are a mining city, hoping to discover more about the old world."

Leon takes in the information before traveling through the town, turning right as he enters what appears to be a shopping district. The smell hits him before he can see anything: roast beef stew, heavily seasoned meat. Then he sees where the smell is coming from - dozens of open-air cafes.

Hundreds of smells overwhelm his nostrils: fog, the open-air cafes, trinkets that smell like dirt, and perfume, not that Leon knows what it is.

He starts walking down the dirt road, and as he approaches more "high-end" open-air cafes, a pungent smell of food hits his nostrils. He takes a right, going towards the two towers in the middle.

As he approaches the towers, the roads start to become more paved, more stone than dirt.

The noises increase, now accompanied by a slight humming, and a bit of glowing is visible from under the scraps, wood, and stone that the towers are built on.

Leon stands a few feet away from the towers, looking up at them as the fog is still coming from the smoke stacks, and he sees the inside of the towers, the doors going into both of the towers, wide open, letting heat and fog out.

He sees gears, as well as a piston pushing down, as something whirls, but you can't quite see what it is.

Leon walks into it, people assuming he works there just let him in, he looks down, seeing a drill, and people placing wood, scrap, and stone beams to keep the towers up.
