After what Shelly said, the whole family including the Bulter and some maid who wants to find some gossips began studying her face carefully. She indeed looked a lot like Mrs Collins and on the other hand Imma had a rare blue eyes typical to those who are mixed race, the couples had never doubted it even once but today...?
" ahhhhhh " Mrs Collins legs grew soft with the possibility that Imma whom she loved and cherished so much might not be her daughter. Both Imma and Ken streched their hands to catch her but visibly Ken was much stronger and faster than Imma, so she silently re drew her hands.
Mr Collins who had been silent all this while " take your mum upstairs to rest" he ordered Ken who nodded his head and took his mother to her room, " you too Imma, you're just recovering don't worry everything will be fine, OK?" He tried to smile as softly as usual but you know emotions are emotions they can't be controlled.
"butler take young lady Shelly to the guest room and contact Mrs Helen ASAP, and miss....." Mr Collins walked up to the girl who was fidgeting with her legs and plucked a some of her hair " if I find out you're lying or have an ulterior motive, don't blame me for being harsh" Mr Collins just left with the hair after throwing those words to her, he didnt know why but he doesn't like this girl AT ALL
"Follow me miss...". As an experience man, the butler took her to the most emote guest room that is far from where the others are to avoid unnecessary troubles.
In her room Imma wasn't as strong as she pretended to be, she hurriedly scearched for her medicine to keep herself calm, it would be extremely dangerous if she got over excited. She immediately called her best friend Kira when she has finished taking the medication. The call connected immediately.
After briefing her of what happened the call was ended, its quiet obvious that Kira is already on her way here to be with her best friend. No matter how Imma tried to concentrate on one thing she just couldn't, yes..... She was genuinely afraid what if what that girl said was true? Are her perants going to forsake her? Isnt this like a typical novel?
Imma immediately started searching for novels with sort plots to read, the more she read the more she became scared, then Kira came and joint her in a blink of an eye two hours passed by in a flash.
Mr Collins returned with a complicated face, everyone gathered in the restroom, but the difference was that the atmosphere wasn't as lively as it was supposed to be, there was no usual love in the air as the past. Immediately Imma saw her dad's expression her heart lept and got the result already.
Mrs Collins ran and took the report from him with a shaky hand even Ken's eyes were complicated as he stared at Imma.
Kira just silently held her best friends hand, trying to give her some strength, and making sure she doesn't fall.
" my my ....my daughter....." Mre Collins burst out into tears as she made her way toward Shelly and hugged her like a treasure she had lost and now found.
" mother....." Shelly was also crying her eyes out, she seemed very pitiful at this moment.
And that was when Miss Helen rushed in with tears, speaking of timing. Every body's attention was immediately directed at her.
"Explain yourself!" Ken bellowed at her, with anger visible on his face. This kind of emotional roller coaster doesn't happen everyday.
" I didn't mean too, I swear... "Mrs Helen knelt down immediately to the family. Before she started explaining " i was also giving birth in the same hospital as Mrs Collins, after giving birth our babies were coincidentally placed together, I was told my daughter was likely to develop a rare heart disease in some time, I didn't know what to do we were poor, but I still didn't give up on my child, I later wore her a red bracelet which was the only thing left by her dad, by then you were still unconscious, I left my child with the nurse and then went to settle my bills by the time I came for my baby, she was missing only to be left with baby Shelly. I was then running to chase after your vehicle but I couldn't catch up, and that was when the idea hit me, my child might actually survive with you guys than with me. But I've tried my best to raise Shelly to the best things my life can offer". By the time Miss Helen finished talking she was already in tears.
"Which best things that life could offer? Yes you told me that you weren't my biological mother but you didn't tell me who where? Are you sure you didn't let you daughter to enjoy life with my family while you let me miss all the good things in life" Shelly accused the kneeling Helen with tears as if she had done the worst things on earth.
Both Mr Collins and Ken frowned at what Shelly said, the only mistake Hrlen did was not saying the truth sooner after all there were the ones who made the mistake of taking someone else's daughter leading to the decision a desperate mother made. Mr Collins if not all of them knew how Shelly lived, cause he made some investigations when wanting to hire Miss Helen. Shelly did grow up in an average home but she never lacked anything and grew up with a careful nurturing instead bit she was too greedy and always sets her eyes on things that were above her.
"I'm I'm sorry...." Helen was truly regretful
" its enough...." No matter how how Imma tried to endure everything, but even though she did not take Helen as her mother, the fact that she gave birth to her is undeniable. But Shelly has qualms in pointing hands at the person who has catered for her all this while. The mistake was made by the Collins first.
"Why? Mum look.... She's already siding with her biological mother, like mother like daughter... Look here" Shelly then went and carried the DNA papers and flung on I'm ma's face " its positive, so you and you bastard mother can live my family alone"....
On a normal Mrs Collins would speak up for Imma but this time she didnt and even Ken didn't and this gave Shelly the courage to say more. Only Mr Collins spoke " thats enough, if you are to stay at this house better be good to Imma she is my daughter and will always be" on saying that he helped Helen and they both went upstairs like wise Kira helped her friend upstairs too, leaving only Shelly to stare at them with disbelief and hate.
