Chapter 19 - blocked

Ashriti's POV

I reached my room and closed the door softly.

The house was quiet.

Too quiet.

I leaned against the door and slid down slowly until I was sitting on the floor.

Everything replayed in my mind.

Adray's voice.

His eyes.

His words.

"You chose chaos over protection."

Then—

The kiss.

My first kiss.

Not soft. Not shy. Not innocent.

It felt like fire.

Like heaven.

Like something forbidden and addictive.

I touched my lips unconsciously.

They still felt warm.

He kissed me.

He chose me.

I chose him.

There is no one else now.

Just him.

Just us.

A sudden urge filled my chest.

I needed to hear his voice.

To relive it.

To confirm it.

To feel it again.

I picked up my phone and called him.

Ring.

Ring.

No answer.

I frowned.

Maybe he's busy.

I called again.

And again.

And again.

Why isn't he picking up?

Did I do something wrong?

Did he not like the kiss?

Was I too stiff?

Too desperate?

Too much?

My heart began racing.

I kept calling.

10 calls.

Each unanswered ring felt like rejection.

By the time I reached 75 missed calls—

He picked up.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" he shouted.

His voice wasn't calm.

It wasn't teasing.

It was angry.

Sharp.

"Are you insane? Do you even have a brain?"

I froze.

My throat went dry.

"I—I missed you," I whispered.

Silence.

Then a cold laugh.

"I don't like clingy girls."

The word hit harder than a slap.

Clingy.

"I'm sorry," I said immediately.

Why was I apologizing?

For missing him?

For loving him?

"I said I don't like clingy people," he repeated.

"I'm not—"

The call disconnected.

I stared at the screen.

Call ended.

I tried calling again.

Call failed.

Again.

Call failed.

I opened the chat.

Message not delivered.

Blocked.

Blocked?

My chest tightened so painfully I couldn't breathe.

Blocked me?

After everything?

After the kiss?

After I chose him?

My hands started shaking.

What do I do?

What did I do wrong?

I don't have Adray anymore.

I pushed him away.

I chose Shivrit.

He's all I have.

And now—

He blocked me.

I sat on the floor of my room, staring at my phone.

For the first time—

The silence didn't feel romantic.

It felt like punishment.

And I was terrified.

Because I had no one left to run to.
