Chapter 1 - THE KINGDOM OF GOLD

PAGE 1 – The Kingdom of Gold

Once upon a time, there was a powerful kingdom named Aurelia, famous for its rivers of gold and diamond mines.

The ruler of this land was King Alaric, a man admired by the people for his intelligence and bravery. But behind the royal crown, Alaric carried a dark secret—his heart was consumed by greed.

His queen, Queen Elara, was the complete opposite. She was kind, generous, and loved by the people. She believed that wealth should be used to protect the poor and build a just kingdom.

Every time she advised the king to share the riches, Alaric's face hardened.

At night, while the palace slept, Alaric would secretly count gold coins, whispering to himself,

"Power comes from wealth… and wealth must never be divided."

Unknown to the queen, the king's greed was slowly turning into something far more dangerous.

PAGE 2 – The Poison of Greed

One day, King Alaric discovered a shocking truth.

Queen Elara had secretly donated a large portion of the royal treasure to rebuild villages destroyed by famine.

When the king learned this, rage filled his mind.

"She has stolen from me," he thought, though the treasure belonged to the kingdom, not to him alone.

That night, the king walked through the dark corridors of the palace, his footsteps echoing like a warning.

He stood outside the queen's chamber, his heart beating fast—not with love, but with fear of losing wealth.

Greed whispered in his ears,

"If she lives, your gold will disappear."

The king made a terrible decision—a decision that would curse his soul forever.

The next morning, the palace awoke to tragic news.

Queen Elara was found lifeless in her chamber.

The king claimed it was a sudden illness. The royal doctors were silenced. The servants were threatened.

No one dared to question the king.

The kingdom mourned, candles burned across the city, and tears filled the streets.

But King Alaric did not cry.

Instead, he ordered all the queen's jewels, lands, and private wealth to be transferred to the royal vault.

As gold filled the treasury, something else filled the palace—fear.

At night, the king began hearing footsteps behind him.

When he turned, no one was there.

But he could no longer sleep peacefully.

PAGE 4 – The Curse of the Crown

Days turned into weeks.

Strange things began happening in the palace.

Mirrors cracked without reason. Candles went out on their own.

The king often saw a shadow that looked like the queen standing at the end of the hallway.

One night, Alaric heard a soft voice whisper,

"Gold cannot buy peace."

The people noticed the change. The kingdom's crops failed. Trade collapsed.

Though the treasury was full, the land was dying.

The king realized too late—his greed had destroyed everything he ruled.

Wealth surrounded him, but happiness had vanished forever.

PAGE 5 – The Fall of the Greedy King

One stormy night, the palace gates opened on their own.

The king was found the next morning, sitting on his throne, alive—but broken.

He refused to speak. He refused to touch gold.

The crown slipped from his head as he stared into nothingness.

The people removed him from power and chose a new ruler—one who valued justice over wealth.

The royal vaults were opened, and the gold was used to heal the kingdom.

Peace slowly returned.

And the story ended with a powerful lesson:

Greed may bring wealth, but it always steals the soul.
