Chapter 12 - chapter 11

Early the next morning, the members of Team Rocket in the base plaza were all ready to set out.

With a line from the Four Generals' Lance: "For the glory of Team Rocket, begin the operation!"

Everyone lined up in an orderly manner and walked out of the base, and Nobunaga and the other three also followed the main group toward Mt. Moon.

This famous mountain peak in northern Kanto, "Mt. Moon," today welcomed the encirclement by Team Rocket members.

One could see Team Rocket members in uniform spreading out and releasing small Pokémon; each squad sealed off the intersections they were responsible for.

"Everyone, keep your spirits up. Not a single person is allowed in!" After General Lance finished speaking, he entered the interior of Mt. Moon together with Dr. Nanbo.

Looking out, the sparse woods at the foot of the mountain could be seen through at a glance; no matter who wanted to pass through, they could not evade Team Rocket's capture.

That's right, capture!

In order to let the news of sealing off the mountain be revealed later, the higher-ups decided to arrest everyone who entered Mt. Moon without authorization.

Nobunaga and the other three arrived at the foot of the mountain on the west side of Mt. Moon and also began to set up camp.

After setting up the camp, they split into groups, with the captain Eicai stationed in the center, and the other three taking turns, each guarding the intersection for eight hours a day.

From 0:00 to 8:00 it was Mizumon's responsibility, because his Golbat and Zubat could only bring out their maximum strength on the night shift.

From 9:00 to 16:00 it was Nobunaga on watch.

From 16:00 to 24:00 it was Tajima leading his Ekans and Zubat to guard the intersection.

At night, looking at the full moon in the sky, Nobunaga's heart still could not calm down; today's operation with so many people still gave him a great shock.

Just because they had to blockade Mt. Moon, they arrested everyone who went into the mountain and everyone who passed by, snatched away their Pokémon, and looted all the money on them clean.

Although he also got a share, Nobunaga could not be happy.

Clearly, when he joined Team Rocket he already had the resolve to do bad things, but truly taking this step still made Nobunaga somewhat hesitant.

Eicai walked out of the tent to relieve himself, and after seeing the dejected Nobunaga, he walked over.

"What's wrong with you? So listless?"

"I'm fine, I just can't really accept what happened today." Facing Captain Eicai, who had always helped him, Nobunaga did not hide it.

After hearing this, Eicai said to Nobunaga: "Joining Team Rocket was your own choice. If you don't join Team Rocket, then you have no power; if you join Team Rocket, then you have no principles. I think you should be able to understand."

After saying that, Eicai turned around and went to relieve himself.

Yes, you can tell this organization's purpose from the name Team Rocket.

The name Team Rocket, Rocket, represents the slogan of the organization leader Giovanni: "RaidOn theCity! Knock out, EvilTusks!" that is: (Raid the city! Extremely dangerous! Evil descends!)

Strength is the most important thing in this world! Just like the League knows that the Viridian City Gym Leader Giovanni is Team Rocket's boss Giovanni, yet because they fear his strength they dare not make a move.

Giovanni once participated in the Pokémon World Championships as a Gym Leader, and in the Kanto Gym Leader tournament, the World Gym Leader tournament, and the Type Specialist tournament, he won the championship in all of them.

This cold-faced man made Trainers all over the world know him.

The title "Giovanni of the Earth" represents that his strength has already been acknowledged by everyone—a man who, standing on the earth, would not be defeated.

Viridian City locals even directly call Giovanni "the Invincible General."

Thinking of that man, Nobunaga for a moment also felt his blood surge: "In order to become a man like that, no matter what, I will definitely keep going!" he thought secretly in his heart.

Then he turned around and returned to the tent to rest. After Nobunaga came back looking as usual, Eicai also slept with peace of mind.

The tired moon hid in the clouds to rest, leaving only a few stars as if standing guard.

Just like Nobunaga and the others tonight, as if having different intentions.

In the morning, when it was time to change shifts, after Nobunaga handed over with Mizumon, Golbat flew up onto a branch, closed its eyes, and began to keep watch with ultrasonic waves.

At noon, as Nobunaga was eating the lunch Tajima had brought, he saw someone running over from afar.

Taking a closer look, this person was wearing a Team Rocket uniform, so he went up to meet him.

"Notice: the League dogs already know the news that we've sealed off Mt. Moon. They are now gathering in Pewter City. The higher-ups want everyone to be vigilant and beware of a sneak attack!"

After saying that, the man, without caring whether Nobunaga reacted or not, ran toward the stationing area of the other squads.

After hearing this, Nobunaga had Golbat and Koffing guard the intersection, and he hurried back to the camp. Entering the tent, he quickly relayed what the messenger had said to Eicai and the other two.

After hearing it, all three had serious expressions. Eicai looked at the three and said: "From now on, move the camp and set up camp directly at the intersection, so that the four of us are together at all times."

The four brought their respective luggage and hurried to the intersection that their First Squad, Ninth Team was guarding.

After setting up camp, it was still three shifts, and the arrangement was the same as before. The difference was that anyone could provide support at any time.

Every hour, Nobunaga would feed all the small Pokémon some Oran Berries to keep up their stamina.

At the same time, he carefully looked over the retreat route that Golbat had scouted in advance several more times, as if he wanted to imprint the map into his mind.

It seemed as if it had sensed that something big would happen; the Rattata that used to be seen everywhere now had disappeared without a trace.

The night was waning.

Today might be the last sound sleep Nobunaga would have on Mt. Moon.
