Chapter 19 - chapter 18

Early the next morning

Nobunaga and his group got up very early. After packing their luggage, they started hurrying on their way again.

Nothing much happened along the way, except that another companion appeared by Nobunaga's side: "Nidorino".

In this world, it is not only Trainers who choose Pokémon; Pokémon also choose Trainers.

Nidorino acknowledged Nobunaga's strength as a Trainer, and Nobunaga also liked this Pokémon with potential very much.

So, in the span of a single day, one person and one Pokémon were able to initially establish a bond.

As the sun slowly set, time also came to the evening.

The three of them arrived at the city known as the water-blue city, "Cerulean City".

After traveling for a whole day, once they arrived in Cerulean City they quickly found an inn. After putting down their luggage, they went to the snack street.

After swallowing the takoyaki in his mouth, Nobunaga said: "Let's not rush to return to the team yet. Let's first familiarize ourselves with Cerulean City's situation; at the very least, we need to first establish a foothold in Cerulean City."

After hearing this, the two of them kept their mouths busy, only nodding to show they agreed with Nobunaga's words.

After eating and drinking their fill, the three returned to the inn and lay down to rest.

The next day, the three split up to act separately.

Stone was going to the mall to buy supplies for the three of them, and Menyan was going to look for Team Rocket's contact point.

Nobunaga, on the other hand, was going to rent a house in Cerulean City as a base and safe house for the three of them.

After arriving at the real estate agency center, Nobunaga received a very warm reception.

After learning that he wanted to rent a courtyard house, the agent lady immediately took out introductions to more than a dozen kinds of houses and began introducing them to Nobunaga.

After listening to the agent lady's introduction, Nobunaga liked two of the houses more.

One was located on the west side of Cerulean City, close to Viridian Forest and Mt. Moon. If they encountered danger, the three could withdraw into Viridian Forest at any time.

The other house was located near the estuary on the north side of Cerulean City. The flow of people was relatively large, making it convenient to hide, and it could also give the three an extra retreat route.

Looking at the brochure in his hand, Nobunaga was still somewhat torn. In the end, he decided to have the agent lady take him to inspect these two houses on site, to compare their pros and cons.

They first came to this small courtyard on the north side of Cerulean City. From the outside, the courtyard area was not large, but the walls were very old, which very much met Nobunaga's requirement of being plain and inconspicuous.

After going in, there was a two-story small building in the courtyard. As soon as you entered, there was a living room; on the right side was the dining room and kitchen, and on the left were the balcony and bathroom.

There were four bedrooms on the second floor in total. The air circulation was very good; even though no one had lived there for so long, after only opening the windows for a while, the air became very fresh.

After touring the whole house, Nobunaga was very satisfied with this place, but in order to compare pros and cons, he still had the agent lady take him to visit the house on the west side of Cerulean City.

Arriving here, he discovered it was actually an independent compound. There was not a soul nearby; only this one courtyard sat all alone at the very western edge of the entire city.

After going in, first was a courtyard overgrown with weeds, as large as half a soccer field. Following the cement path in the middle of the courtyard, at the end was a row of single-story rooms—fifteen rooms in total.

Each room was fifty square meters in size, enough to accommodate one's own Pokémon.

After returning to the agency, Nobunaga felt very conflicted; he was very satisfied with both houses.

In the end, he still made up his mind and rented both houses.

After returning to the inn, he saw Stone and Menyan waiting for him at the entrance.

After Nobunaga told the two about the two houses he had rented,

the three packed their luggage and moved into No. 91, Seadra Street, on the north side of Cerulean City.

Just after moving into the new home, Menyan spoke up:

"I've already found the contact point. It's in a grocery store on Seagrass Road in the south of Cerulean City.

The pattern on the window is made up of a row of R."

After hearing this, Nobunaga said to the two: "We just arrived in Cerulean City; we should first familiarize ourselves with the situation here before going to make contact!"

"Stone, tomorrow you go to the bounty hunter guild to gather information; Menyan, go find Hyena to buy intelligence about Team Rocket; I'll go to the black market to ask around for information."

After hearing this, the two nodded and agreed.

Back in the room,

Nobunaga released five Pokémon and began preparing today's dinner for them.

After the Pokémon had eaten and drunk their fill, he had Golbat stay on the second-floor balcony, taking on the important task of keeping watch.

Koffing lay on Nobunaga's bed to rest; it could wake Nobunaga at any time to support Golbat.

Arbok returned to the Poké Ball, since its current size counted as a large Pokémon.

Grimer ran to the first-floor kitchen and slept beside the water pipes, responsible for the first floor's vigilance.

Nobunaga also prepared a mat for Nidorino, letting it sleep beside the bed.
