Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: Divination

Deep in the night in Igwinte, within a dimly lit secret chamber.

This was a small secret chamber with a strong smell of blood. In the center of the chamber stood a small altar built from blood-stained human bones. On top of the altar, a piece of flesh with various strange organs wriggled on the skull.

Beneath the altar, a dark red carpet was laid. Around the altar were bookshelves, desks, various display stands, and a large basin filled with bloody water, in which human remains were soaking.

Standing before the desk were two figures. One was a thin, gloomy middle-aged man with a small mustache, who was Buck of the Red Communion Society. The other was a slightly hunched old man, who was also Clifford, a member of the Holy Communion Society.

Buck and Clifford, these two core members of the Red Communion Society, stood together with grave expressions. Clifford was somewhat agitated.

"Buck, hurry up, it's almost time..." Clifford said to Buck with a hint of urgency, but Buck didn't respond. Instead, he silently walked to a painting in the secret chamber.

After gazing at the painting for two seconds, Buck reached out and opened it, revealing a safe behind it. Then, Buck set the password for the safe, opened it with a key, and took out the contents.

Buck walked back to the desk and placed the items he was holding on it. There were two things: a bracelet inlaid with an orange gem, and a small piece of stone with one flat side. The flat side of the stone was engraved with dense, neat, unknown characters.

Seeing the items Buck placed on the desk, Clifford's eyes immediately lit up.

"Is this... the divination tool... left by the Mentor?" Clifford murmured, his eyes wide. Buck nodded in response.

"Yes, the divination tool, a precious divination tool... With this, we transcend the constraints of time and space and obtain information from the dimension of the inner world," Buck said silently, while Clifford continued to speak in disbelief.

"Transcending the constraints of time and space to obtain information, what exactly are these two things? Can they do something so powerful?"

"Heh... Actually, they are just Spirituality storage objects..." Buck smiled slightly, then his gaze swept over the two items on the desk and he continued to speak.

"According to the Mentor, what is needed for divination is not these two items, but the Spirituality stored within them. Generally speaking, no matter the form of divination, two types of essential Spirituality must be provided to complete a divination."

"What are the two types of Spirituality essential for divination?" Hearing Buck's words, Clifford asked eagerly, and Buck didn't hide it. He answered directly.

"They are 'Light' and 'enlightenment'..."

"The Spirituality essential for divination... is actually 'Light' and 'enlightenment'?"

"Yes... According to the Mentor, 'Light' has the meaning of insight, while 'enlightenment' means information. Using 'Light' to gain insight into 'enlightenment' allows one to instantly obtain the desired information across time and space."

Buck spoke slowly. Listening to Buck's words, Clifford nodded understandingly and murmured.

"Using 'Light' to gain insight into 'enlightenment' to obtain information across time and space? Is this the essence of divination? One has the meaning of insight, the other means information, which is truly very different from the 'Cup' we pursue."

Looking at the items on the table, Clifford continued to think and speak.

"I've been an Extraordinary for so long, and this is the first time I've known the principle of divination. So, if I can get the Spirituality of 'Light' and 'enlightenment' in the future, can I also perform divination?"

"That is indeed the case. As long as you master the method and consume Spirituality, you can perform divination. The method is generally very simple, but the key is Spirituality. Spirituality is the hardest to obtain..." As he spoke, Buck looked at the bracelet inlaid with orange jewels on the table.

"Among them... the Spirituality of 'Light' is not too difficult to obtain. Many items flowing out from the Shining Light Church contain it, and the Shining Light Church is very large, so many things flow out. Sometimes, secret societies existing in religious forms can also produce some 'Light' in their daily activities, and many 'Light' Extraordinary from the Shining Light Church have defected. These guys also cooperate with some'Stone' craftsmen to create 'Light' Extraordinary items for trade... Therefore, finding items that store 'Light' is not too troublesome..."

As he spoke, Buck looked at the other piece of stone on the table, which was engraved with dense characters on one side.

"But... this 'enlightenment' is much more difficult to obtain. According to the Mentor, due to Spirit Sight, the entire hidden world has very few Extraordinary associated with the Spirituality of 'enlightenment', and finding Extraordinary who have directly embarked on the path of 'enlightenment' from the beginning is like searching for a needle in a haystack. And 'enlightenment' happens to be the most difficult Spirituality to integrate into physical objects. Currently, only a small amount of 'enlightenment' is contained in stone tablets and murals excavated from ancient ruins, which are engraved with ancient knowledge and secret histories."

"For example, this... This is a fragment of an inscribed stone tablet excavated from a certain ruin. The 'enlightenment' it contains is an important thing left by the Mentor..." Buck pointed to the gravel on the table, and Clifford on the side also said with emotion.

"This thing contains the precious Spirituality of 'enlightenment'..."

"Yes, the Mentor also went through some trouble to get it. I originally didn't want to use such a precious thing, but there's no other way now. We must find the whereabouts of those guys."

As he spoke, Buck officially began to prepare for the divination.

"Ink phosphor lime powder... silver powder... red-winged bird blood... bronze ink..."

Buck quickly began to work. He first used the various materials placed on the table to process and mix them, finally mixing a bottle of grayish-yellow ink shimmering with faint fluorescence. Then, he used the ink to draw on the table, finally drawing a circular magic circle. The upper part of the magic circle was mainly the symbol of "Light", and the lower part was mainly the symbol of "enlightenment".

Then Buck placed the bracelet containing "Light" and the gravel containing "enlightenment" on their respective symbols. Finally, he went to the bookshelf, pulled out a large sheet of paper, and returned to the table to spread it flat in the center of the magic circle, between the symbols of "Light" and "enlightenment". Upon closer inspection, it was clearly a city map. At the top of the map, the word Igwinte was spelled out.

This was a map of the city of Igwinte.

"I will use the pendulum divination method to make those guys have nowhere to hide!"

As he spoke, Buck took out a single-chain crystal pendant from a small box on the desk. He held the pendant in one hand and placed the hanging crystal in the exact center of the magic circle, above the map of Igwinte.

"I guide the all-seeing Light to illuminate the sea of knowledge and enlightenment..."

As he murmured, Buck began to swing the crystal pendant in his hand. The pure white crystal began to sway back and forth over the map of Igwinte. On the symbol of "Light", the orange gem inlaid in the bracelet began to shatter, and on the symbol of "enlightenment", cracks appeared in the fragment of the stone tablet engraved with ancient characters.

Invisible Spirituality was released from the restrained objects, surrounding the ritual site.
