Chapter 1 - Chapter one

James looked at his dinner companion, Adrian Romano. The man was clad in a suit which fit him to perfection. He looked as good as always and James was jealous. The man was good-looking, no doubt about it, and that was probably the first thing everyone noticed about him. He had a dark kind of complexion that was popular among all genders with stunning steel gray eyes and midnight dark hair.

But something about him was just off. James had always been a good judge of character, and he could tell that Adrian was no good. Maybe it was his memory of them in college with Adrian being the playboy narcissist or something. Whatever it was just too potent. It was a cloud that hovered over the man. Something that made James uncomfortable. Honestly, if it weren't for his parents begging him to go on this date, he never would have come.

Adrian looked like the kind of guy you had a one-night stand with and then never saw again. He looked like the guy everybody wanted, but you were sane enough to realize that he was no good, but you still just wanted a taste of him. A piece of the pie if you will. Something like a trophy, like something you get to brag about with the rest of his conquests, you know.

Like, I also had that. I hit that.

''So James, tell me something about yourself. We haven't seen each other in two years, I think. What have you been up to?'' James shifted from his thoughts to the man's voice. Again, another problem. His voice was a few octaves lower than normal. Yes, men generally had deeper voices, but this guy. Wow. Back to the question at hand. James's parents had told him that Adrian was looking to settle down and hence the blind dates, which in this case wasn't blind, due to the fact that, James and Adrian had known each other all their lives. And no, James wasn't dating this guy. He loved his peace way too much. Adrian looked like the guy you would have to look over your shoulder if you dated. Crazy ex's and whatnot.

Fuck no, wasn't happening.

"Adrian" James started in a quiet voice. He knew he was never dating the guy, so it was inevitable that this next conversation would take place.

''You know there's no way we could work out, right?'' James all about rolled his eyes at the thought of the two of them together.

''Personally, I think you're way too full of yourself and have a vain personality. You think you're better than everyone and that the world owes you something'' James all but blurted out without much thought. Watching without an inkling of guilt as the poor guy flinched at his words. His cold gray eyes did not wave from their stare, however.

Adrian Romano sat through the entire process of his childhood crush building and then taking him apart piece by piece with his words. Truthfully, Adrian knew James had the smartest mouth, but damn. He would've never pegged that he would feel this way about it. Adrian had pulled the trigger on so many people that he almost felt like he didn't have a heart anymore. However, being in the presence of James made him realize just how human he still was. It wasn't that James was a bad guy per se, well... that was debatable, but the point is, James was just being honest, he didn't like Adrian and Adrian was just going to be a big boy about it and pretend to understand. It had taken a lot of pleading on his part to beg his parents to just go and have dinner with James's parents, so they could get him a date with the guy. And now, he didn't know whether to cry about it or just kidnap the guy and forcefully make him his. At this rate, Adrain was desperate and not beyond evil.

Adrian cleared his throat and looked down for a second, then took his stare back at those brown eyes in front of him. Adrian has always liked James; the younger guy has always had a soft spot in his heart. He never really understood what he liked about James. James was mean and unfiltered. Like he just had to open his mouth, and you were either in pain or in love. In Adrian's mind, however, James was the one. Well, he wasn't in love, but he wanted to fall in love with James. Every time Adrian saw James, his member noticed too. His dreams consisted of Adrian claiming the little guy more times than he could count.

Adrian wanted James like he never wanted anything in his life. And no matter how this date went, Adrian was still going to get him. Consent or none.

The first time he saw the guy was when they were kids. Adrian was eleven and James was nine. He was a cute kid with big brown doe eyes and beautiful brown hair. Adrian didn't realize it at first, but he had grown to like the kid. It was brotherly love at first, because his parents had been friends with James' parents. But as they grew up, Adrian realized just how wrong and misplaced his feelings had been.

'Well okay, if that's how you feel. But I mean Not even a little bit? You're not even curious''

Adrian was grasping at straws. This guy was messing with his head. Adrian didn't have to ask for much in life, everyone just came up to him. So, it irked him that he couldn't have the one thing he truly wanted.

''Adrian, I wouldn't mind us sleeping together, but other than that, no'' James shrugged like it was too easy to brush off Adrian's feelings just like that. Adrian swallowed at the insult. In short, James considered him only good enough for a lay and not a relationship. Well, Adrian wasn't picky at that point. He could take whatever he got.

'Well, okay then. If sex is what you want, then fine. We can do that.'' Adrian nodded his head. Awkwardly clearing his throat as he looked away. He didn't know what to say anymore. His feelings were hurt, but he wasn't giving James the satisfaction of an angry face. James seemed like the type to laugh at a kid tripping.

'So, can we go like right now? Seriously, I haven't gotten laid in a while, and I could use the feel.'' James spoke up with sparkling eyes. Adrian just blinked and looked up again, catching James' seductive trail on his body. This guy was so shameless that Adrian couldn't help the angry growl that made it to his throat. He suddenly rose and grabbed James by the upper arm and nodded to the table in front of him that James failed to notice.
