The Blood Moon was closer.
Not physically.
But everyone could feel it.
Ren stood on the school rooftop, wind whipping against his uniform. The city below felt smaller lately—like it was being watched.
Nyx stood beside him.
Too close.
She always stood too close.
"You're quieter than usual," she said, leaning against the fence.
"I almost got impaled by a celestial assassin two days ago."
"And you survived."
"That's attractive."
He glanced sideways.
Her golden eyes glowed faintly in the sunlight.
"Why do you look happy?"
She tilted her head.
"Because something is finally moving."
"Moving?"
She stepped closer.
"The timeline."
A chill crawled down his spine.
"…What timeline?"
Her smile widened.
But she didn't answer.
