Chapter 366 - The Ladder

The first week was boxes, fucking boxes.

I loaded them. I unloaded them. I stacked them in the warehouse and stacked them in the trucks and stacked them in the stash house on SW 12th that I wasn't supposed to know about but knew about because I watched and I listened and watching and listening were the two things Jake Hart had been doing since before the System, since before the money, since before any of it. The boxes were heavy. The boxes were light. The heavy ones had product. The light ones had supplies. I learned the difference on the first day and never asked about it because asking was how you got noticed and noticed was how you got dead.
