I COULDN'T FORGET HIM
••••★••••★••••★••••★••••★••••
Some people come into my life suddenly,
and leave slowly—but leave a permanent void.
I still remember him.
Those college afternoons…
Standing on the rain-soaked verandah, the two of us talking silently.
He spoke little, but there were a thousand stories in his eyes.
I understood, yet I pretended not to understand—
Because I knew that some relationships are lost once they are given a name.
On the last day, he said,
"Forget me."
I laughed.
But something inside my heart had broken at that time.
Today, after all these years,
when I hear a song,
when I see an unfamiliar smile,
I suddenly remember his name.
I know he won't come back.
I know our story will remain incomplete.
Still, the truth is this—
I tried…
But
I couldn't forget him.
