Understanding This World

Gene Levels

Every cultivator is born with a gene that determines their innate potential for growth. Genes are graded from weak to god-like, and they influence how fast and how far a cultivator can progress on the path of power.

The gene levels are as follows:

F-tier (Weak) – Limited potential. Most individuals at this level struggle to advance beyond the early stages of cultivation.

E-tier (Average) – This is the most common level in the world. Individuals possess normal potential and steady growth.

D-tier (Good) – Above average; these individuals show promise and are often encouraged to cultivate.

C-tier (Rare) – Great potential. They are considered talented and are usually recognized by sects and noble families.

B-tier (Exceptional) – Rapid advancement and high combat growth. These cultivators are valuable assets.

A-tier (Supreme) – Considered prodigies. They are heavily nurtured and protected by powerful forces.

S-tier (Legendary) – Extremely rare. Feared and respected, these individuals are widely sought after.

SS-tier (Transcendent) – Once-in-a-generation talent with near god-like potential.

SSS-tier (Mythical) – Defines an era of cultivation. Their existence alone can reshape the world.

X-tier (Apex) – The absolute peak. A level spoken of in myths and ancient legends.

Title Levels / Ranks

Ranks indicate a cultivator's current level, mastery, and authority, while titles represent their social standing and recognition. Titles precede the name in formal address. In cases where the difference in status is great, the name may be omitted entirely as a sign of respect.

The ranks and their corresponding titles are:

Seedling Gene – Disciple

Beginners who have only begun to sense and gather energy.

Sprout Gene – Novice

Early-stage cultivators capable of performing minor techniques.

Blooming Gene – Apprentice

Competent cultivators officially recognized as part of the cultivation world.

Flourishing Gene – Adept

Skilled combatants who can act independently and build reputation.

Radiant Gene – Master

Experienced cultivators respected in society and often placed in leadership roles.

Celestial Gene – Grandmaster

Regional elites whose strength can influence cities or territories.

Exalted Gene – Lord / Lady

World-class cultivators who command sects, armies, or lands.

Mythic Gene – Commander

Legendary figures feared across nations.

Divine Gene – Sovereign

Near god-like beings unmatched by ordinary cultivators.

Primordial Gene – Apex

God-like mastery. These individuals are especially respected and feared across the world.

The gene level corresponds with the cultivation rank, and a person's rank cannot surpass their innate gene potential.

For example, a cultivator with B-tier potential cannot advance beyond the Radiant Gene stage.

Cultivation Method Levels

While genes determine potential and ranks determine mastery, a cultivator's method and technique determine how effectively they use their power. A weak method can hold back even a genius, while a powerful method can allow a talented cultivator to dominate their peers.

Cultivation method levels correspond directly with gene levels, and a person's method cannot surpass their gene potential.

The cultivation method levels are:

F-level Method – Basic

Crude and inefficient. Common among ordinary people.

E-level Method – Standard

Simple and widely practiced. Provides stable but limited growth.

D-level Method – Refined

Better control of energy and improved combat ability.

C-level Method – Advanced

High efficiency and stronger techniques

B-level Method – Elite

Allows rapid development and powerful combat skills.

A-level Method – Supreme

Rare and extremely powerful. Usually guarded by major sects.

S-level Method – Legendary

Almost impossible to obtain. Grants overwhelming strength.

SS-level Method – Transcendent

Near-perfect harmony between body, energy, and spirit.

SSS-level Method – Mythical

Ancient and nearly lost. Said to reshape the laws of cultivation.

X-level Method – Apex

A level beyond comprehension, existing only in legends.

For example, a cultivator with B-tier potential should not possess a cultivation method above B-level, as their body would be unable to handle it.
