"Dragon Slayer Slash!!"
A giant burst of magical energy forms around the stick in my hand, almost sword-like (well more like a colossal sword by the amount of magical energy flowing out). I bring my raised stick down like a judge casting down his judgment. Everything in its path is completely obliterated, quickly followed by a massive shock wave.
What exactly was in its path? Well what used to be a hoard of goblins, now only ashes.
You may be asking why am I using a stick? Of course for aesthetic reasons you wouldn't understand…definitely not because I just now realized I have no weapons, or armor at that.
Huh, What's that? Wasn't I crying like a baby just a while ago? Must be thinking of someone else…
Okay but in all seriousness, I simply had an epiphany…
You see, all the in-game mechanics still worked, Status, Titles, EXP, Leveling up, Abilities, Skills, Passives, Buffs, Etc…. So OBVIOUSLY, so would respawning…
Sometimes I marvel at my own genius.
Now with this newly acquired knowledge I had nothing to fear, souls-like or not there was nothing stopping me now! So I decided from here on out I would enjoy my new life to the utmost. Surely it's my duty!
Which brings me here;
My theory is, if I keep walking forward eventually I'd run into someone or something. But so far nothing… except for the occasional low-level monsters. You know your typical iseaki-fantasy monsters; goblins, wolf-like creatures, slimes, skeletons, etc.
On that topic, DID YOU SEE THAT ATTACK?! Holy hell, I guess maxing out my abilities and skills actually paid off, maybe too much so… but I guess it can never hurt to be this strong…. right?
Though I'll admit I'm a little scared to test out my other abilities and skills now…. that was my lowest rarity one, so I can only assume the other two are much more powerful…
I continue moving forward, with nothing major happening other than a few more encounters with some lower-level monsters. However this time around I stick to using my regular strength, and by that, I mean my fist. I guess leveling up really did pay off, I can punch heads clean off. I could probably even kick down a tree if I really wanted to. Not to mention I'm traveling at incredible speeds at what feels like a jogging level of effort. I continued this for what felt like an hour…
I think I can actually see a city in the distance…
Holy f*ck there's no way that acu-…. *Ererhm*… Of course I knew it would turn out like this. I'm a genius after all.
Begin slowly making my way towards the city…
