Chapter 1 - 1. Arrival

Marvel Universe

It was a day like any other in New York City.

People walked from here and there on their way to work, vendors shouted over the city noise, and criminals waited for the right moment to strike.

It wouldn't be much different from any other day.

Except...

CRACK

The sound of shattering glass echoed from the top of the Empire State Building.

Some distracted civilians looked up in confusion, but there were no broken windows.

But, already used to strange things, they didn't think much of it.

But, even though they didn't notice anything, it wasn't the same for other people and organizations.

SHIELD Headquarters, Triskelion

Director Fury stared at a screen with a serious expression. The analysts around him remained silent; they knew the director rarely wore that expression, and that it wasn't a good idea to interrupt him when he did.

The image showed the top of the Empire State Building, empty, though. The gauges had shattered the moment they registered the readings of Energy

Behind him, Deputy Director Maria Hill held a tablet with a worried expression.

Hill: Sir... the meters can't measure the energy limit recorded a few minutes ago.

Fury: So what do we have?

Hill tapped some buttons on her tablet, and an image identical to the previous one appeared on the screen.

But this image showed what appeared to be 10 figures made of energy standing on top of the building.

Hill: The spectrometers were able to reconstruct this based on the recovered data.

Fury observed the figures on the screen.

They appeared to be anthropomorphic beings, as they had what looked like spikes on their heads, as well as longer and thinner arms and legs than normal people, and a hedgehog-like nose.

But the images only showed the figures in digital red; they could only have obtained this because of the spectrometers. The cameras, no matter how advanced, showed nothing.

Fury: Do you think they're mutants?

Hill: -Shakes his head- I don't think so. The readings surpass the records of any registered mutant, even Jean Grey and Sebastian Shaw. Besides, we've never had a record of mutants with this kind of appearance, and we have thousands of records.

Fury: -Looks at an analyst- Any leads on their whereabouts?

Analyst: Negative, sir. As soon as the last figure appeared, they vanished without a trace, not even a trace of residual energy.

Fury: So the most advanced agency in the world can't find a bunch of creatures, each with more energy than an Omega mutant?

Analyst: I-I'm sorry, sir.

Fury: -Looks at Hill- What about the reconnaissance team?

Hill: Same here, sir. The scanners didn't detect any trace of residual energy. Whatever they are, they're experts at handling it.

Fury: And that makes them even more dangerous. If they can contain that amount of energy as easily as breathing, it means they could use it without difficulty.

Fury: And we don't know what their intentions are here.

And while SHIELD was busy trying to track these beings...

???: There's nothing here worth killing.

???: Oh, come on, Satanos, don't be such a sourpuss.

???: Could you both shut up?

???: Why don't you, old man?

???: If you keep this up, I'm going to send you to Curse.

???: Hey, watch out!

Several of the figures from before were arguing atop the Empire State Building.

Although, for some reason, the entire surrounding city seemed like quicksand; buildings were folding over each other and even appeared out of nowhere in the sky.

But none of the figures paid any attention to it, except for one.

???: How is this possible?

And it was none other than the Sorceress Supreme, Yao, better known as the Ancient One.

The current situation was quite simple, really.

She had been monitoring the dimensional breaches that constantly plagued Earth's magical barrier.

Nothing special, just the occasional encounter with Dormammu or Nightmare.

But then she sensed it.

A dimensional energy so immense that it dwarfed all the dimensions that had previously attempted to invade Earth combined.

And it emanated from ten entities, each one individually.

And all of them had passed through Kamar-Taj's defenses as if they were air.

So, as soon as the last one appeared, she used the Mirror Dimension to send them away from Earth in a second, ensuring that no one noticed her presence.

She knew that some, like SHIELD or the mutants, had surely detected the anomalies as soon as they appeared, just as she had, but she didn't have time to deal with their affairs.

But as soon as she "trapped" the entities in the Mirror Dimension, she realized... Something strange.

The Mirror Dimension created a scale replica of the outside world, but any events that occurred within it wouldn't affect the real world. That's why the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj used it to deal with dimensional invaders.

But these entities weren't affected by it; their bodies, though present, remained anchored to Earth.

At the same time they remained in the Mirror Dimension

Even after centuries of encountering strange things, this was unprecedented.

But before she could make her next move, someone else interrupted her.

???: Hey, you should know it's not polite to kidnap someone without their permission.

She looked at the being that had appeared sometime within the Mirror Dimension.

It looked the same as the others, but its entire body seemed to be made of geometric shapes, in addition to the fact that its limbs were separated, with nothing connecting them.

Ancestral: Who are you?

???: Oh, excuse my manners, my name is Sonic, although I'm better known as Rewrite.

???: Hey Rewrite, meeting the natives?

Rewrite: You already know, Majin! JUAJUJUJUJUJU!!!

One of the hedgehogs from before appeared beside Rewrite, his face like a mask that always smiled, like those in theaters.

Majin: Good afternoon, Madam. -Majin greeted, lowering his top hat, which he hadn't been wearing a second ago-

The Sorcerer Supreme looked at them for a moment before answering.

Ancient: What is your purpose on Earth?

Majin looked at her with a smile, though it didn't reveal much.

Majin: Oh, that. My apologies. I had to bring THEM here to preventing them from annihilating another Omniverse out for boredom. -He replied with a somewhat exasperated tone-

The Ancient One stared blankly. Annihilate an Omniverse out for boredom?

???: Bah, you're too delicate, Majin.

Another hedgehog approached, but this one wore a bone mask, and small flames were emanating from his fur.

Majin: Come on, Diablo, yesterday you burned down three multiverses because Coolrash wasn't around.

Diablo: Tsk, there's not much we can do without him.

While the two hedgehogs argued, the Ancient One tried to see into their souls. She needed to know what kind of beings they were.

But she encountered something terrifying: she couldn't sense their souls.

There were only two reasons for this: either they didn't have souls, or their souls were so powerful that they were beyond her perception.

Although she hoped it was the former, she knew it was much less likely than the latter. After all, living without a soul was impossible; if it were, they would just be zombies.

Diablo: So, are you going to try to stop us, or will you leave us alone?

Upon hearing the hedgehog's impatient tone, the Ancient One sighed in defeat.

Ancestral: Even though they are beings of immense power, if they attempt anything that puts this planet at risk, I will have to intervene.

Rewrite: JUAJUJUJUJU!!!

The polygonal hedgehog laughed at the declaration.

Rewrite: We would never do that. The worst thing would be for Lord X to eradicate all humans or for Starved to eat them all, although I don't think he's a cannibal.

The Ancient One looked at Majin as if Rewrite were talking nonsense.

Majin: I'll try to make them eradicate only one continent.

After that, Majin pulled a yellow ring out of who knows where and threw it into the air. It expanded, revealing mountains.

Majin: EVERYONE, HERE, NOW!!!

The other hedgehogs approached at the call, gathering around the ring.

???: It's about time.

???: Suyachkani allin tecnología kananpaq infectananpaq.

???: Fatal, your translator malfunctioned again.

???: Silence, NOW.

The hedgehogs fell silent when she gave the order.

The Ancient One looked at the one who gave the order. The hedgehog had much darker fur than the others, a large X crossed his chest, he had sharp yellow teeth and black eyes, and she could swear his irises were also Xs.

???: Come on, Lord X, you don't have to be so boring.

Lord X:Do you want me to lock you up again for 4 millennia with Yokubo, Sarah?

The hedgehog scolded another one, but this hedgehog had purple fur, orange and red gloves and shoes, and cartoonish eyes.

Sarah: Hehehehe!!! Of course not, X.

???: Kunanqa ripusunmanchu?

Majin: Of course. -He looks at the Ancient One- It was a pleasure meeting you, Miss Yao, but I think we should be going now.

Then, the hedgehogs jumped (somehow in a ball shape) into the portal and left the Mirror Dimension.

Before leaving, the dark hedgehog, Lord X, as that "Sarah" called him, turned to the Ancient One.

Lord X: If I were you, I would avoid trying to delve into our origins. I'm sure you would value your sanity.

Then, he jumped into the portal, which vanished moments later.

The Ancient One stared at the place where the portal had been, then undid the spell, causing the Mirror Dimension to vanish.

She immediately opened a portal to Kamar-Taj and disappeared.

(Hi, here with my "pathetic attempt at writing a somewhat serious Marvel fanfic." Don't expect me to update very often, or maybe I will, it depends on my motivation.)

(Currently There are only 10 EXES, but I might add more later. If you want, you can request one and I might include it.

(If it's controversial like the Curse OG, I won't include it.)
