Chapter 2 - Is this a magical cultivation world?!

Shaking my head, I read the runes that served as descriptions again.

The runes said:

[When the war began, the gods, demons, giants, and mortals fought in a war that shook the foundations of the world. From the cruel and bloody war where both gods and demons died, along with all species. The last God standing, seeing the destruction, dragged fragments of the destroyed worlds to build a enormous kingdom. And to ensure the kingdom sustained itself, he used the power and souls of the fallen to endow mortals with the talent for cultivation so they could ascend through morality towards the divine.]

And that was just the description; it still lacked what the ranks themselves were, however this was more important.

First, there was a war... No, more correctly, it should be said that in the past there was a devastating war where gods, demons, giants, and mortals participated.

But why did the war start? And how did it end exactly? How could gods die?

Shaking my head, I set those questions aside for later. I still don't know anything about this world.

For now, only one thing is certain: the last god had created ten Ranks in the world, or also a kind of system where mortals could ascend until becoming new deities.

That was the most logical option, but I felt something was wrong.

Sighing, I focused on the other part.

Which said:

[Ranks]

Rank 1: Spiritual Core Creation.

Rank 2: Spiritual Core Awakening.

Rank 3: Spiritual Core Transformation.

Rank 4: Soul Transformation.

Rank 5: Spiritual Core of Souls Mastery.

Rank 6: Divine Core Creation.

Rank 7: Divine Domain Awakening.

Rank 8: Divine Aura Domain Fusion.

Rank 9: Divine Aura Domain Extension.

Rank 10: Divine Domain Realm Creation.

Surprising, right?

There are ten ranks in total, and currently I'm at the first rank.

The higher the rank, the more powerful you become, although how to pass from one rank to the next I still don't know and there's no additional description in this system.

With this, it's practically confirmed: I'm in a cultivation world of... mana? Magic? Qi?

Well, it doesn't matter at all; the point remains the same: this world is totally and irremediably messed up.

It's as if you took every piece of every series you've ever seen or read in your life and mashed them all together, resulting in this confusing amalgamation.

Or at least, that's how I thought this world was constructed.

The lack of information is a problem, and I still don't fully understand the system.

Let's set aside the cultivation stuff and all that for later. Now the most important thing is to keep discovering new things.

Let's see now, let's look at the class and what those skills are, oh and of course, those Dungeon Points.

Moving down, I reached my skills.

[Skills]

[Dungeon Mastery]

[Dungeon Binding]

[Dungeon System]

[Dungeon Editor]

[Dungeon Expansion]

[Monster Shop]

Alright, let's start with this one first!

Upon pressing Dungeon Mastery, the runes appeared, giving a description.

The runes said:

Dungeon Mastery: [Total territory that encompasses your domain]

Huh?

That's it?

Where's my super detailed explanation, you useless system!

Tsk... let's look at the next one.

Dungeon Binding: [You are bound to your Dungeon; there is nothing that happens within that you do not know]

Alright, damn it, that's what I'm talking about!

From the description, and if I take it literally, it means I have a bond with this place. In fact, now that I pay a little attention, my vision had split in two. On one hand, I could see my own shadow body standing in the middle of the room, but I could also see the wall at the same time.

It was a bit confusing, honestly.

Focusing on a single vision, I decided it would be my shadow body.

Dungeon System: [A system that helps you manage, organize, and strengthen your Dungeon. It has many useful functions]

I felt a smile spread across my face.

I like how that sounds, now for the next one!

Dungeon Editor: [By using this skill, you can create and edit the floors of your Dungeon by removing or placing elements as you wish.]

I blinked, a little confused.

Well, I don't have much to say; I've played games of this style, so I more or less know how to use it.

Now let's see the last skill.

Dungeon Expansion: [Extend your territory to make your Dungeon larger and deeper]

Monster Shop: [Through this skill, you can summon your monsters for your Dungeon or create them directly.]

Interesting.

Now I understand.

Dungeon Mastery and Dungeon Expansion are similar skills. Mastery is the amount of territory I have that I can control or sense, while Dungeon Expansion is adding new territory under my domain.

Understanding this, I felt a kind of clarity.

Sensing the cave, I extended my senses further beyond, but only reached the outside of the cave. In total, my territory could only encompass a total of about fifty or sixty meters around. That was the total amount of territory I possessed, and the cave where I was located occupied exactly half of that territory.

As for the monster shop, well, it was what the name said: I could buy monsters and place them in the Dungeon, or simply create them, although the 'how'? I didn't have the faintest idea how to do that.

Looking at the system screen, I noticed an interesting icon that hadn't been there before.

The icon was a kind of yellowish rune symbol with a counter that continuously increased.

First it was one, then two, three, then five, then seven, and it just kept growing.

Focusing on the icon, another description appeared.

Dungeon Points: [By absorbing mana from the environment, it is converted into points that you can spend in the system to buy monsters and any objects you need.]

Hmm... I see.

So these Dungeon Points are the currency the system uses to buy what it shows, and I obtain them passively by transforming mana directly into points; that's good to know.

Now let's look at the system store before continuing and deciding what I'll do next.
