Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 - The Landlord Is Too Sweet

Chapter Three

"Shhh!"

Ren pressed his hand against the woman's lips and her body against the closed door. Her soft marshmallows were pressed against his chest as time seemed to freeze in its place to witness the absurd scene where a virgin male was pinning a hottie against the door.

On top of her head, Ren could see a pink heart with a lock on it.

'What is that?' Ren scrunched his eyebrows as the blue screen flashed between him and the women.

"Mmmmfghhhh!" The woman tried to free herself from Ren's grip with her eyes still fixed on Ren's huge dick which was pressed against her stomach.

'Why did she shout? And, what the hell is she looking at?' Ren wondered as his eyes finally trailed along the woman's line of vision. 'Fuck!'

Ren immediately retracted his hands as he turned away from the woman, who fell down on the floor, zipping his member up. 'Shit. Shit. Shit. She must think now that I'm a pervert of some kind.'

"Look Miss, I can explain." Ren started as he turned back to face the woman again, who seemed lost in her own world.

"Get away from me, you—you—" The woman scrambled backward on her elbows, her heeled shoes slipping against the wooden floor as she pressed herself against the door frame.

The movement hitched her already dangerously short dress up her thighs, revealing smooth skin and a flash of black lace she was wearing underneath her short skirt.

Ren turned his head so fast at the scene that his neck nearly cracked.

'Don't look. Don't look. Don't look.'

But his virgin brain, starved for years of any real action, had already captured the image and stored it in permanent memory.

Ren felt warmth trickle from his nose.

'Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.'

"Look, Miss. I can explain," Ren said, tilting his head back slightly, keeping his face turned toward the wall. 'Please God don't let her see. I don't want to be classified as a pervert.' He prayed silently in the back of his head before continuing. "It's not what it looks like."

"Not what it looks like?" The woman's voice pitched higher from her position on the floor. "You opened the door with your—your—" She gestured vaguely at his crotch, seemingly unable to form the words. "—hanging out like it was a—a—"

"A reasonable mistake?" Ren offered weakly, still facing the wall as his deep voice came out slightly nasally. He pressed his sleeve to his nose, praying she couldn't see from her angle. "I just woke up with a hangover."

"Reasonable?!" The woman stayed on the floor, dress ridden up and legs slightly parted in her shock as she stared up at Ren. "You just—and it was—and I—"

"I'm aware." Ren kept his head turned, sleeve pressed to his nose. The bleeding was slowing but not stopping. "If you could stand up, we could discuss this like adults."

"I CAN'T stand up! My ankle... I twisted it because of you! You moron!"

'Of course she did.' Ren groaned inwardly, rolling his eyes.

He wiped his nose for one last time. And thankfully, this time, the bleeding seemed to have stopped.

Ren finally turned back to face her, keeping his eyes firmly locked on her beautiful face and her ruby eyes.

"Look, I'm sorry I scared you. I'm sorry you fell. I'm sorry about the..." Ren gestured vaguely at his crotch. "All of it. But you're here for a reason. What is it?"

The woman blinked at the sudden shift as some of the fluster faded from her expression, replaced by confusion. 'Why is he asking me a stupid question like that?'

"What kind of question is that, Mr. Esper? Obviously, I'm here because of the rent," The woman stammered, screwing her eyes shut. "Three months overdue. It comes to fifty-eight hundred dollars. I'm not adding any extra charges."

'Rent? So, she's the landlord of this place. But, how do I pay the rent? I can't spend the money on myself. And, there's only nineteen-'

Before, Ren could think a bit more about the entire situation, the woman spoke yet again.

"Mr. Esper, I already delayed the payments for three months because of your situation." Tears welled in the woman's eyes as she stared at the wooden floor, ranting a little at the lack of response from Ren. "But my brother is sick now. I need the money for his treatment. Please don't ask me to extend the deadline anymore."

The words rooted Ren in his spot as the gears in his brain began to turn at the new information. 'That's it. I can get out of this situation. And, start splurging to get the tutorial mission done.'

"Mr. Esper?" The woman called Ren, pulling him out of his thoughts as he took a few steps towards her and kneeled in front of her, putting on a friendly smile on his face.

"I'm really sorry, Miss. Can we discuss this on the couch?"

The woman blinked at him through tear-filled eyes. "Couch?"

"Yes, couch."

The woman looked at her ankle then back at Ren. "But, I can't walk." She responded as she bit her lip, making it bleed a little.

"Right. Of course." Ren sighed as he slid one arm under her knees and the other behind her back, lifting the woman off the floor.

"Then allow me to help you."

"Kyaaaah! Mr. Esper!" The woman's arms automatically wrapped around Ren's neck for balance as she forgot all about her mini skirt that had ridden up. "What are you—"

"Moving you to the couch, Miss. You said you couldn't walk." Ren responded like a robot, staring straight ahead at the wall, carrying the woman through the small apartment.

"You can't just lift a lady like that out of nowhere, Mr Esper! And, my name is Monica. Not Miss."

"Noted, Monica."

Monica's face burned red at Ren's prompt replies, who seemed completely relaxed and unbothered to her.

'He's not looking.' A strange disappointment filled Monica at the realisation. 'Why isn't he looking? Wait, do I WANT him to look? No. Yes. NO. He just saw me crying about my brother and now he's carrying me like some kind of—'

Monica's thoughts screeched to a halt as she realized her breasts were pressed against Ren's chest. The same chest that had been pressed against her moments ago.

"Ughhh. Mr. Esper?"

"Yes?"

"You are going to pay the rent today, right?"
