Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Furina

Konoha Village

Several figures darted through the village streets in pursuit. The one being chased was a blond boy with three whisker-like marks on his face an iconic feature that made his identity obvious.

This chase also caught the eye of a blue figure not far away.

She had short, silver-blue gradient hair resembling a jellyfish, eyes like brilliant stars lively and clear with heterochromatic water-blue pupils that added a touch of mystery.

Even in simple light-blue clothing, her unparalleled beauty could not be concealed.

"Tomorrow is the final graduation exam, and the plot is finally about to begin. All these years, I could only watch the system without being able to use it I don't even know how I managed to get through it."

Thinking that her system could finally come into play, a hint of joy rose in Furina's heart.

It had been 12 years since her previous life, when she was hit by a truck while saving someone and transmigrated to this world. Not only had she changed gender, but she had become a popular character from a well-known game in her past life Furina.

Even more coincidentally, the cheap parents who adopted her in this life (and who had already died on a mission) had named her Furina as well. It couldn't get any more coincidental than that.

Sure, she liked Furina a lot, but liking a wife and becoming your own wife were two completely different things, okay?!

Still, although she found it a bit awkward, it actually fit quite well with the system that awakened not long after.

The system's name was Super Invincible Popular System. It could broadcast a new timeline of the Naruto world one that included her participation to a parallel world from her previous life, in the form of an anime.

In that parallel world, the anime industry and all forms of entertainment developed very slowly. That world had neither Naruto nor Genshin Impact; entertainment options were quite scarce.

And this ninja story? No need to think about it, it was bound to attract a ton of viewers.

What Furina needed to do was gain as much favor from the audience as possible. Through their affection, she could obtain Affection Points.

And with those Affection Points, she could strengthen all sorts of her abilities, in other words, deep blue, add points!

Wait, no, no, that's not right. She couldn't put it that way. The audience liked her because of her own effort and hard work, right? So even if she got stronger through this, it was still thanks to her effort and sweat.

Yes, exactly~ o( ̄︶ ̄)o

As Furina was lost in thought, a system notification sounded in her mind, informing her that the plot had officially begun. Correspondingly, the plot would soon start airing in the parallel world.

"It's finally starting. Then I should go show my face around Naruto first. With Furina's beauty, just appearing should win over a lot of people."

Having made up her mind, Furina quickly headed toward Naruto. After all, she was just an extra butterfly in this world, most of the spotlight was still on the anime's protagonist, Naruto.

And if a butterfly wanted to stir up huge waves, it needed to flap its wings a lot more.

"Yo, Naruto, what are you doing here? Don't tell me you skipped class again."

Furina was fast. In the blink of an eye, she reached Naruto's side. After adjusting her voice a bit, she teased him.

"Ah!" At that moment, Naruto had just lowered the cloth covering him. Before he could breathe a sigh of relief, he heard the questioning voice beside him and got startled.

He immediately prepared to keep running, but after glancing at the source of the voice, he froze. Because right now, Furina was looking at him with a beaming smile clearly, he'd been played.

"What the Furina, it's you? You're here skipping class too, and you're still messing with me like that? Watch out, or I'll report you to Iruka-sensei and have him punish you."

"What do you mean skipping class? I just wasn't in a good mood and wanted to come out to clear my head." As she spoke, as if spotting something unpleasant, the smile on Furina's face gradually faded. She also subtly gestured behind Naruto.

"Hahaha, Furina, you think I, the great Naruto, will fall for the same trick twice? Don't even try it again. I'm not getting fooled by you anymore..."

As he spoke, Naruto started feeling something off like something was slowly approaching him, getting closer and closer. So he forgot what he'd just said to Furina, slowly turned his head to look.

Immediately, he saw a face that was clearly very angry and the person he least wanted to see right now.

"Iruka-sensei!"

"Naruto!"

Iruka's sudden appearance clearly startled Naruto. He hadn't expected Furina to actually be telling the truth there really was trouble. But realizing it now was already too late.

"Hehe~" Watching Naruto get scolded by Iruka, the corners of Furina's mouth curved into a slight arc. This wasn't her fault she'd already warned him. What could she do if he didn't believe her?

Although Iruka was a bit annoyed by Naruto, he didn't forget that Furina was still watching from the side. After lecturing Naruto a few times, he turned to look at Furina, who was secretly laughing.

Perhaps because his anger had subsided after scolding Naruto, or because Furina usually behaved well and didn't seem like the type to skip class, his expression softened when facing her.

When she noticed Iruka's gaze turn to her, Furina naturally knew what he was about to say. Before he could ask, she repeated the same excuse she'd given Naruto earlier.

"Oh, so you weren't feeling well? Alright then. If something's bothering you, make sure to tell me, don't keep it bottled up inside."

"I know. Thank you, Iruka-sensei."

Hearing Furina's explanation, Iruka didn't pursue it further. After all, he'd seen how she usually acted, she didn't seem like someone who would skip class.

"Hey, Iruka-sensei, why are you so nice to Furina but treat me like that? It's not fair."

Naruto, who had originally planned to watch the show, saw this heartwarming teacher-student moment and couldn't help pouting as he complained. The difference in treatment between the two was just too extreme.

Hearing Naruto's dissatisfied voice, the calm that had returned to Iruka's face was replaced by a trace of anger again. After taking a deep breath to calm himself, he spoke.

"You failed the last two tests, didn't you? Even after that, instead of studying hard, you skip class to doodle all over the Hokage-sama's stone faces. Do you even plan on graduating?"

Seeing Iruka's serious expression, Naruto knew the teacher was actually concerned about him. So although he still looked defiant on the surface, he didn't argue back anymore.
