Tenebris guild throne room
I blinked in the last seconds of the game but it still is active?
I looked around and tried to open a menu but nothing popped up.
"What's happening"
I said but it wasn't my voice it was someone else, the voice was much deeper then my own and much more intimidating.
"There's nothing going on currently in Tenebris my lord"
I looked to source of the voice it was Valerie her cold stoic voice rang through the throne room the other Underbosses seem to gone along with the Milites, I was started since then could NPCs talk on there own and why did the graphics quality significantly scale up.
I moved my hand to try and open a menu for the NPCs dialogue but instead realized that my hand actually moved according to my whim as if I was moving my actual body.
"If you'd like a report on the current state of each floor?"
I was in utter turmoil what happened did I die? Did I transmigrate? Am I in purgatory or did the developers faked out on a shutdown? Either way I need to keep calm maybe I am a beta tester for there new game or something but it feels so real.
"Yes give me a report Valerie"
My voice still sounds pretty weird to me I have a mediocre voice in real life not deep but not high either, but I kinda like the deep voice it sounds intimidating.
"Well lord Cain, everything is operating just fine the ommni cyle is still functioning" Valerie said with no emotion like a robot.
I forgot the ommni cycle existed for a moment, practically it's just the cycle of resources in Tenebris that cycles from each and every floor to maintain each one, this system was a pain in the ass to coordinate and actually make it viable, this was an overpowered tactic in Apeiros (the games name) that made you not have to worry about NPCs mana usage, but it only works in Tenebris so if I summoned Matthias to help me outside the guild then he would be consuming his own mana and because he's an NPC he can't generate mana.
"Other then that nothing has happened you seem to be worried oh great one?" Valerie said having a little hint of curiosity, her tail swinging slowly behind her.
I stood up I had armour around me but it didn't feel like I was touching anything really it felt like I was naked like I didn't have any senses.
"Valerie fin the other Underbosses and bring them to the 3rd floor" I said trying to keep calm and act domineering as if I actually know what I am doing.
After that I teleported to the third floor Leonard's floor or what my guildmates use to say the floor of endurance. Each floor of Tenebris has its own theme, for example the first floor having the theme of syndicates, mafias, gangs and much more. Matthias was heavily based on the Italian Mafia his whole skill set based on guns and buffing allies, each underboss doesn't just guard a floor they command it because each floor is complex and massive having many sub factions and other beings
Not long after I teleported Matthias teleported to the third floor too.
"I'm sorry in advance if it may seem like I am disrespecting you o'great one but I must ask, why did you summon all the underbosses here" Matthias said with a rigid stern voice as if he's being tested by a greater authority or like a man who's late for an interview.
"I have decided for an inspection and a mandatory test for each underboss" I said calmly but with a hint of aggression.
Matthias then sighed before clearing his throat before speaking "I am sorry for my incompetence my lord"
And so after every guardian teleported and after a little bickering among them they soon began showing me there powers and limits.
The reason I did this was to confirm my suspicion that each guardian was sentient and if they were then I wasn't in Apeiros anymore since the games server couldn't handle complex AI, I watched as every guardian showed there skill sets and much more, I began to get weary and because this all seems a little too real to be a game and so I began testing my own spells and skills even though I didn't use a menu it feels like I knew how to use all my skills like the back of my hand.
"Lord Durgan really is strong" Veda said as she saw me use one of my spells.
I pulled a great sword from my inventory as if I knew how to withouth the menu and began swinging it around, the feeling was exciting it was amazing.
And then I stopped swinging and I began to think how about I test my skills against one of the underbosses why not right?
"Leonard, how about we spar" I said with a confident tone but the confidence was masked with the deep voice I now have.
"To spar with you lord Durgan is a blessing and a Honor my lord!" Leonard yelled.
The other guardians then walked to the side and went up some even summoning chairs to sit down.
