Between the ominous emergency alert ringing in his mind, the mysterious holographic screen flashing in the corner of his vision, and the worried reactions of his classmates and teacher, Lu-el chose to focus on the seat beside him—the pathetic bastard, Kazu-to, grabbing his stepsister Yhu-na's hand in an attempt to drag her away.

"Don't you understand?! It's an undead outbreak! Unless you want to die, you should come with me and get out of the university!" Kazu-to shouted, grabbing Yhu-na's hand hard enough to make her rise from her seat—only for Yhu-na to slap his hand away.

"Even if I were to die, why would I come with you?" Yhu-na retorted, a leer curving her lips as she looked down at Kazu-to, clearly intending to mock him in front of everyone.

Kazu-to raised his hand, attempting to slap her out of frustration at how Yhu-na had treated him over the years, despite them being childhood friends. But before his hand could touch her cheek, Lu-el grabbed his wrist to protect Yhu-na.

"Let go, you bastard—"

"Show me your right wrist, Yhu-na," Lu-el said, ignoring Kazu-to's blabbering and foolish struggle, worried she might have been bruised.

"I'm fine, Lu-el. See?"

Yhu-na showed her right wrist, but, contrary to what she said, there was a faint bruise.

However, it wasn't from Kazu-to.

"It's from you restraining and pinning us down on the bed this morning. Even Ka-sumi has one," Yhu-na whispered—loud enough for those around them to hear.

Looking at Ka-sumi in the seat in front, she cheerfully raised both hands to show that she indeed had bruises on her wrists from their intimacy—which those who heard Yhu-na easily understood, including Kazu-to.

"YOU FUC—Thud!—Argh!"

Kazu-to fell, stumbling to the ground, as Lu-el released his hand, seeing no reason to break it further.

Still, that didn't stop Kazu-to from lashing out at Lu-el while being helped to stand by his friend, Jin-su.

"IT'S BECAUSE OF YOU! Ever since you became her stepbrother, Yhu-na changed! She started ignoring me even though we promised to marry each other when we grew up! Just what did you do to her—YOU FUC' BASTARD!"

PFFT—!

Everyone barely held back their laughter at how cringe-worthy Kazu-to's tantrum was, even their teacher, especially Yhu-na and Ka-sumi.

Yhu-na embraced Lu-el, burying her face in his chest to muffle her laughter.

Ka-sumi ducked her face onto her table, restraining herself from laughing at how successful Yhu-na's plan from a decade ago had been.

I know, I know—but I still love them, Lu-el sighed, in response to the questioning looks of those who understood how Yhu-na had intentionally toyed with Kazu-to's feelings.

Lu-el hugged Yhu-na, patting her head and caressing her back to calm her down from laughing so much.

That sight finally opened Kazu-to's eyes to the grim truth—and at the same time, broke his heart.

"YOU FUCKIN' LIAR!"

Kazu-to rushed at Yhu-na, this time intending to seriously hit her with his fist.

Lu-el, swiftly yet gently, moved Yhu-na aside and countered Kazu-to with a single punch straight to his face, intending to knock him off his feet.

BAMM!

To everyone's surprise, Lu-el's punch sent Kazu-to flying until he slammed into the classroom door.

Even though Lu-el had a muscular frame from regular gym visits below their apartment building, and Kazu-to was much shorter, sending him flying a dozen meters was impossible for any normal human.

Is that what Enhanced Abilities are about? he thought while looking at the holographic screen.

Regardless of the mystery, there was something else Lu-el was far more concerned about.

"He isn't dead yet, right, Mr. Na-cht?"

Kazu-to lay unconscious, his nose broken and blood dripping from his mouth.

Their teacher, Na-cht, frantically approached to check Kazu-to's pulse, but before he could answer Lu-el's not-so-worried question:

ROOAAARRRR—!

ARGHHH—!

GYAHHH—!

GAHHH—!

A series of deafening roars erupted throughout the entire building, followed by dying and panicked screams echoing through every corridor.
