Chapter 1 - A famous love story

Chapter - 1.

In the busy city of Kolkata, Rohit was standing by the banks of the Ganges on a golden evening. The sunlight shimmered on the water, and everything looked like a beautiful painting. Just then, Pia came and stood beside him. She was wearing a white salwar, her hair flowing freely, and there was a strange calmness in her eyes.

Rohit couldn't say anything at first. Pia smiled and asked,

"Do you come here every day?"

Rohit, a little shy, replied,

"Yes… I mean, this place is very special to me."

That small conversation marked the beginning of their story.

Days passed. Sitting by the Ganges, buying books at College Street, sharing dreams over cups of coffee—their friendship slowly grew deeper.

Pia was full of life. She found happiness in the smallest things. Even a single rose from a roadside flower seller could light up her face with a smile that filled Rohit's heart with joy.

Rohit was naturally quiet. But around Pia, he changed. He shared his dreams and fears openly with her.

One evening, Pia suddenly asked,

"Rohit, what if someday we are separated?"

Rohit looked at her in surprise.

"Why would you say that?"

Pia smiled softly.

"Nothing… I just wanted to know."

Holding her hand, Rohit said,

"No matter how far you go, I will find you."

That silent promise floated away in the evening breeze of the Ganges.

Chapter - 2

Every beautiful story faces a storm one day. Pia's father was suddenly transferred to another city. She had to leave—far, very far away.

The day of farewell at the railway station felt heavy. Rohit struggled to hold back his tears. Standing by the train window, Pia said,

"Don't forget me."

With a trembling voice, Rohit replied,

"Impossible."

The train slowly pulled away, and Pia's face disappeared into the smoke.

For the first few months, phone calls, messages, and video chats kept them connected. But gradually, busyness increased. Misunderstandings grew. One day, they had a big argument.

Through tears, Pia said,

"You've changed."

In anger, Rohit replied,

"You don't give me time either!"

After that day, their conversations became fewer. Both waited for the other to call first. But pride built a wall between them.

Rohit would sit alone by the Ganges at night, remembering Pia's laughter. In another city, Pia would look at their old photos, her eyes filling with tears.

Both of them knew the love was still there. But neither had the courage to break the silence.
