Chapter 1 - The Guardian of Silverpine Woods(Long Version – Adventure & Mystery)**

**🌕 The Guardian of Silverpine Woods

(Long Version – Adventure & Mystery)**

Chapter 1 — The Howl on the Wind

The town of Silverpine was small, surrounded by tall pine trees that stood like silent guards against the wind. Most days were quiet, but the nights before a full moon were anything but.

On those nights, a sound rose from the woods—

A howl so powerful it made even the street dogs go silent.

Thirteen-year-old Ria Sen, curious and brave, had heard the howl all her life. But this month, the howl sounded different—almost sad.

While everyone else rushed indoors, Ria stepped onto her balcony and listened.

Her best friend, Kabir, had warned her, "Don't go near the woods before full moon, okay? My dad said strange things happen there."

But strange things were exactly what Ria wanted to understand.

That night, after finishing her homework, she made a decision.

She grabbed her torch, slipped on her jacket, and quietly left the house.

The moment she walked into Silverpine Woods, the air turned colder.

Chapter 2 — The Tracks

Ria followed the path toward the old stone well, a place adults told children to avoid. The howl echoed again, closer this time.

Ria's hands trembled, but she kept going.

At the well, she noticed something on the ground:

Huge footprints.

Far larger than any dog or wolf could make.

She bent closer. The shape was strange—paw-like, but too long, too wide.

Suddenly—

CRACK!

A branch snapped nearby.

Ria spun around.

A tall silhouette stood between the trees, its eyes reflecting her torchlight. Amber-colored. Glowing.

A werewolf.

But it didn't growl.

It didn't chase her.

Instead, it stepped back, like it feared her.

Then, with surprising speed, it disappeared into the forest.

Chapter 3 — Secrets in the Library

The next day, Ria rushed to the library during lunch break. She found books on myths, local history, and folktales.

Mr. Devraj, the old librarian with round glasses, noticed the pile.

"That's an unusual choice," he said.

Ria hesitated. "Sir… the werewolf stories of Silverpine… are they real?"

Mr. Devraj sighed deeply, like someone carrying an old truth for too long.

"Come with me."

He led her to a dusty shelf where old documents were kept.

"Two centuries ago," he began, "Silverpine was protected by a forest guardian—a human, blessed with extraordinary strength. But after an ancient conflict, he was cursed. Every full moon, he transformed into a wolf-like creature. Not evil… but dangerous."

Ria's eyes widened.

"So the werewolf is the guardian?"

"Yes," he said. "He protects the forest… but fears hurting the people he swore to defend."

Ria remembered how the creature stepped back from her the night before.

"He's scared," she whispered. "Scared of himself."

Chapter 4 — Shadows in the Pines

That evening, at Kabir's house, his father—Ranger Amit—spoke about wolves near the eastern forest.

"We'll keep watch tonight," he said. "Whatever's out there is strong."

Kabir pulled Ria aside.

"You're not going near the woods again, right?"

Ria didn't reply. She didn't want to lie.

As night fell, Silverpine was tense. Ria slipped away once again, this time moving deeper into the woods than before.

The forest felt alive, full of whispers.

Then she saw it.

The werewolf stood by the river, staring at its own reflection—

its shoulders hunched, breath unsteady.

It didn't look like a monster.

It looked like someone trapped.

Ria stepped forward and whispered, "I know you're the guardian."

The werewolf turned sharply, startled.

"I'm not here to hurt you."

The creature held still… then slowly sat, watching her with wary eyes.

For a few moments, they simply stayed there—

a girl and a cursed protector, separated by fear and trust.

Chapter 5 — The Hidden Enemy

The peace didn't last.

From behind the rocks, another figure appeared—

a man wearing a hunter's coat and carrying a long tranquilizer gun.

Ria gasped. "No—don't!"

The hunter aimed.

The werewolf growled—not at Ria, but at the man.

"Step aside, girl!" the hunter shouted. "That beast has been terrorizing this place for years."

Ria shook her head, standing firm.

"He's not attacking anyone. You don't understand—"

The hunter fired.

But the werewolf leapt in front of Ria, taking the hit in its shoulder. It didn't attack; it only shielded her.

The hunter froze in shock.

Ria ran to the creature. "Why would you protect me?"

The werewolf's glowing eyes softened, as if trying to speak.

Before the tranquilizer could fully take effect, it staggered away, disappearing into the trees.

Chapter 6 — The Dawn of Truth

The next morning, search teams entered the forest to look for the creature—but they found nothing.

Ria couldn't focus in school. She kept replaying the moment the werewolf protected her.

After class, she returned to the forest alone.

Near the stone well, she found blood drops (not graphic) leading to a small cave.

Inside sat a man—weak, injured, wrapped in a torn cloak.

His eyes were the same amber color.

Ria gasped.

"You… you're the guardian."

He nodded slowly.

"When the moon rises, the curse takes control," he said softly. "I avoid the town to keep everyone safe."

"Then why did you save me last night?" Ria asked.

The guardian looked at her with gentle sadness.

"Because even monsters don't want children hurt."

Ria sat beside him. "You're not a monster. You're protecting us… even from yourself."

The guardian managed a small smile—the first in centuries.

Chapter 7 — A New Promise

Ranger Amit and Kabir eventually found Ria in the cave, and for a moment, chaos erupted.

But when they saw the truth—the man behind the legend—the fear faded.

Amit lowered his weapon.

"I thought you were a threat," he said quietly.

"I only wish to keep the peace," the guardian replied.

Silverpine made a new plan that day:

They wouldn't hunt him.

They would help him.

Ria, Kabir, Amit, and even Mr. Devraj helped create a protected zone deep in the forest where the guardian could stay during full moons—safe, hidden, and away from danger.

That night, when the moon rose, Ria heard the howl again.

But this time, it wasn't fearful.

It was peaceful—almost grateful.

The guardian of Silverpine Woods was no longer alone.
