Chapter 6: The Beginning of Captivity (Extended Version)

Rain poured endlessly over the sleeping city, washing away the neon lights and blood-stained streets beneath the darkness of midnight.

Inside one of the most heavily guarded mansions on the outskirts of the city, silence ruled like a king.

The mansion itself felt less like a home and more like a fortress.

Security cameras rotated slowly. Armed guards patrolled every corridor. Steel gates remained locked behind layers of encrypted systems.

No one entered.

No one escaped.

And tonight—

someone had been brought here against her will.

Anya groaned softly as consciousness slowly returned.

Her head throbbed painfully.

Memories flashed violently inside her mind—

A black car.

Masked men.

A hand covering her mouth.

Darkness.

Her eyes shot open.

The ceiling above her was unfamiliar—high, elegant, painted in deep charcoal shades. A crystal chandelier hung silently above, reflecting faint golden light.

She tried to move.

Her breath hitched.

Her wrists were tied.

Not roughly.

Soft silk restraints circled her hands, almost gentle… yet completely unbreakable.

Panic flooded her chest.

She sat up quickly, scanning the room.

The bedroom was enormous—luxurious yet intimidating. Black marble floors stretched beneath her bare feet. Heavy curtains blocked most of the outside view, but through a small opening she noticed armed guards standing outside.

Guns.

Real guns.

Her heartbeat accelerated.

"This isn't real…"

She whispered to herself.

But it was.

Very real.

She rushed toward the door—

Locked.

Of course.

Her breathing became uneven as fear slowly turned into anger.

"Whoever did this is insane…"

The sound of footsteps echoed outside.

Slow.

Measured.

Powerful.

Every instinct inside her screamed danger.

The door opened.

And the air changed instantly.

He walked in like darkness itself had taken human form.

Black suit perfectly fitted to his tall frame. Black gloves covering his hands. His presence alone felt heavy enough to steal oxygen from the room.

Raihan.

The man the city whispered about.

The man criminals feared.

The Devil in Black.

He closed the door quietly behind him.

No rush.

No emotion.

Just control.

Anya stepped back instinctively.

"You."

Her voice trembled despite her attempt to sound brave.

"You kidnapped me."

Raihan studied her silently, his sharp eyes observing every reaction—the fear, the anger, the confusion.

"Yes."

No denial.

No apology.

Her anger exploded.

"Do you even realize this is illegal?! I'll call the police—"

A faint smirk touched his lips.

"The police work for me."

Silence crashed between them.

Anya froze.

He walked closer.

Each step slow… deliberate… terrifying.

She could hear her own heartbeat.

Raihan stopped only inches away.

"I didn't bring you here to harm you," he said calmly.

"Then why am I here?!"

His gaze darkened slightly.

"Because keeping you alive outside was impossible."

Confusion replaced anger.

"What does that even mean?"

He turned toward the window, watching the rain slide down the glass.

"There's a war coming."

His voice dropped lower.

"And you… are the reason."

Anya stared at him.

"That makes no sense! I'm nobody!"

Raihan looked back at her.

For the first time, something dangerous flickered in his eyes.

"That's where you're wrong."

He approached again and untied her wrists himself.

His touch was careful.

Unexpectedly gentle.

"You witnessed something you weren't supposed to."

Her memories rushed back—

That night.

The warehouse.

Gunshots.

A man being executed.

And standing in the shadows…

him.

Her breathing stopped.

"You…"

Realization hit.

Raihan watched understanding dawn across her face.

"Yes," he said quietly.

"And now every mafia family in this city wants you dead."

Fear crawled down her spine.

"So you kidnapped me to save me?"

He tilted his head slightly.

"Call it protection."

Anya laughed bitterly.

"This is prison."

Raihan's expression hardened.

"No."

He stepped closer, voice dangerously calm.

"This is the only place in this city where you're safe."

Thunder roared outside.

Lightning illuminated his face—

cold, powerful, unreadable.

Yet strangely…

she didn't feel unsafe anymore.

And that terrified her more than anything.

Because somewhere deep inside—

she realized one truth.

The most dangerous man in the city…

was now her only protector.
