Chapter 292 - Naruto and Sasuke on the Brink of Death

[Uchiha Mikoto: Sasuke!!]

[Uchiha Fugaku: Mikoto, calm down. Sasuke isn't dead yet.]

[Uchiha Mikoto: But…]

Although she had already anticipated this outcome, seeing her son on the verge of death still threw her heart into complete panic as a mother.

[Uchiha Itachi: I hope Kabuto and the Sage of Six Paths act soon.]

[Uzumaki Kushina: Wait… does that mean Naruto is next?!]

[Namikaze Minato: Calm down, Kushina. The Yin Half of the Nine-Tails is still sealed inside me. I'm sure we can keep Naruto alive.]

[Temari: Wait! Gaara is a Jinchūriki right now. Doesn't that mean the tailed beast will be extracted soon? Then Gaara will…]

[Kankurō: Gaara!]

[Gaara: Sister… Kankurō.]

[Granny Chiyo: Sigh, don't worry. This old woman is still alive. I've still got the Reincarnation Ninjutsu ready.]

[Karura: Granny Chiyo…]

[The screen continues…]

Seeing Sasuke before them with his heart pierced through, Itachi and Shisui's eyes split with rage. Both of them struggled with all their strength.

But… Madara's grip was like iron. They simply couldn't break free.

"Hmph. Stay still."

Two chakra black rods appeared in Madara's palm. With a swift motion, he thrust them forward, piercing through the necks of both Itachi and Shisui…

Looking down at the two men now pinned to the ground like hedgehogs, Madara spoke indifferently:

"Finally quieted down."

"Uchiha Madara!"

Itachi tried to rise in fury, but the chakra black rods disrupted his chakra completely. He couldn't stand up at all. Worse still, with a rod lodged near his head, he couldn't even activate his three-tomoe Sharingan.

Shisui was in the exact same condition.

The two could only glare at Madara with eyes full of murderous rage. If looks could kill, Madara would have died countless times already.

Madara, however, completely ignored them.

He slowly walked over to Sasuke and glanced at where they lay.

"Next…"

Madara turned his gaze toward the nine Tailed Beasts, who had stood up once again.

"Stay obediently inside the cage."

Naruto stared at Madara through gritted teeth.

"SASUKE!! Madara! I'll never forgive you!!!"

Controlling Kurama, Naruto charged at Madara at high speed. Inside him, Kurama suddenly shouted urgently:

"Naruto! Stop! I sense something approaching us!"

But Naruto, blinded by fury, couldn't hear him at all. Kurama's massive claw swung toward Madara.

Yet halfway through the swing, the claw suddenly stopped—blocked by something invisible.

Then Kurama's head seemed to be struck by a tremendous blow, sending the enormous fox flying backward.

Madara watched Naruto being blasted away and said coldly:

"Hmph. How ugly."

"When you and the others fought me and Obito earlier, weren't you all about righteousness? You kept talking about understanding Obito's pain, boasting that the entire shinobi world should understand one another."

"But now that I killed Sasuke, you can't bear that pain?"

"What hypocrisy."

"It seems you're just a brat who understands absolutely nothing."

"You—!!!"

Whether Madara had struck a nerve or Naruto simply couldn't grasp his words, Naruto stood up once again.

"Hmph. In your current state, you're not even worthy to dance."

Madara's right eye suddenly flared.

"Limbo: Border Jail."

Kurama instantly sensed something was wrong and shouted toward the other Tailed Beasts:

"Something's coming—AH!"

With a heavy boom, Kurama was slammed to the ground.

At the same moment—

"Pff!"

"Ah!"

"Urgh!"

"…!"

All nine Tailed Beasts were struck down simultaneously.

Seeing the result, Madara nodded faintly.

"Now that's more like it."

He formed a series of hand seals.

"Demonic Statue Chains."

The Demonic Statue of the Outer Path opened its mouth, purple light gathering within it. From that glow suddenly shot out nine enormous chains.

As if alive, the chains locked onto their targets and wrapped tightly around the necks of the nine Tailed Beasts.

Each beast struggled violently, pulling against the chains—but they couldn't break them at all. It was futile.

Naruto, Killer B, and Gaara tried to cancel their Tailed Beast transformations to escape the chains, but they couldn't even retract the transformation.

Madara turned his gaze toward Gaara.

"First… the One-Tail."

The chain yanked Shukaku violently. Gaara struggled desperately, yet he was dragged away little by little.

"Lord Gaara!" ×N

Seeing this, the shinobi of Sunagakure panicked—but there was nothing they could do.

"Everyone, move aside!"

An elderly monk suddenly appeared before the Sand ninja.

Granny Chiyo looked at him in shock.

"You're Bunpuku! I didn't expect you to be revived with Impure World Reincarnation as well."

Bunpuku nodded.

"Lady Chiyo, it was Mr. Kabuto… but now isn't the time for explanations."

"I understand."

Chiyo immediately realized what he intended to do.

Bunpuku pressed his palms together and began chanting sutras. Astonishingly, black sealing inscriptions appeared across his body.

The inscriptions peeled away and transformed into chakra chains.

The chains shot forward and pierced into Shukaku, pulling him backward.

For a moment, Bunpuku and the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path were locked in a tug-of-war.

But Bunpuku was no match for the Demonic Statue.

In the end, he only managed to seize a portion of Shukaku's chakra.

Shukaku was completely absorbed into the Demonic Statue, leaving behind a dying Gaara.

Seeing this, Granny Chiyo immediately ordered:

"Bring Gaara here at once!"

"Yes!" ×N

The Sand shinobi rushed toward where Gaara had fallen.

Looking at the chakra in his hands, Bunpuku sighed.

"Sigh… I'm old. I only managed to take this little."

"You've done enough," Chiyo reassured him. "This chakra is enough to keep Gaara alive for quite some time."

"At least… we still have hope."

Next came the Two-Tails, Three-Tails… all the way to the Seven-Tails.

Realizing he couldn't escape the same fate, Gyūki, the Eight-Tails, suddenly tore off one of his own octopus tentacles.

"Sorry about this, B."

The chakra within that severed tentacle would at least give Killer B a slim chance to survive.

Finally—

The Nine-Tails.

Madara suddenly increased the Demonic Statue's absorption power.

Caught off guard, Naruto was violently pulled out of Kurama's body, sent flying backward.

Kurama dug his claws into the ground, desperately resisting.

At that moment, Sai flew over on his ink-painted eagle.

Seeing him, Kurama hurriedly shouted:

"Pale kid! I need to ask you for something!"

"The Fourth Hokage has the other half of my chakra sealed inside him. Tell him to seal that half into Naruto!"

"If he does that… Naruto will survive."

Sai lifted Naruto onto the ink eagle and nodded at the Nine-Tails.

"I understand. Leave it to me."

Saving Naruto had originally been a mission assigned to him by Nagi, but after years of fighting alongside Naruto, Sai now regarded him as an irreplaceable comrade.

"Then I'm counting on you, pale kid."

Moments later—

Kurama was completely absorbed into the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path.
