Chapter 2 - Cursed even in death

[10]

The text appeared in blue making him feel both threatened and anxious at the same time.

[9]

This time the text appeared in red. He wanted to scream his lungs out internally.

When he saw the first message in blue he assumed only one of the systems was against him and counting down. But now, who knew these pieces of shit would actually join hands and count down together.

[8]

Text in blue.

He began panicking, in all the books he had read he had never had a character encounter something like this.

He began to wonder if this was the heavens and hell playing some twisted game with him before his final send off to God knows where.

[7]

Text in red.

Otherwise, he wondered why both systems would want him dead and alive at the same time.

He kept racking his brain thinking of a way out of the predicament but he had no solution, he even put himself in different shoes thinking of a solution, and with such an attempt he guessed even Athena had no way out of the predicament.

If he were the Demon Lord, of course he would pick the Bad Karma system as he would be meeting himself.

If he were a god he would obviously pick the Good Karma system as heaven couldn't possibly punish him...right?

Where were these thoughts even coming from? He was struggling with such a life or death decision and yet still fantasizing about such thoughts.

He couldn't help but drift off again wondering how his mind could conjure such thoughts.

Maybe he should have been an author before he died...

[Punishment would be awarded to host in...3]

[Punishment would be awarded to host in...2]

[Punishment would be awarded to host in...1]

'Ahhhh!' he screamed internally seeing the text appear in bolded now and a terrifying mix of blue and red text.

Who wanted to be awarded such punishments from heaven and hell??

'I accept both!'

He screamed his answer, shut his eyes accepting whatever was to come, he hadn't even actually thought his answer through as he had been in a state of panic but it just felt like the most appropriate answer to him.

If the systems didn't accept his answer he wondered what his fate was to be, it couldn't be that bad right...?

He had already died once, and although it had been painless, it still counted.

But after a while, he felt no change in anything around him.

He slowly opened his eyes.

[...]

[...]

There they were again.

Two messages in his line of sight one in blue text and the other in red text.

Were the systems confused by his answer?

Wait that wasn't the important thing, he wasn't punished.

His answer was acceptable even though it wasn't part of the options, he wanted to rejoice but the next set of messages made him hesitate first as he wanted to know what the systems decided on before rejoicing.

[Host is being a bitch...the Demon Lord can't be as scary as punishment from the Seven Heavens]

[Host should rethink his decision... Heaven is a place regarded as paradise, how would you possibly receive punishment from such a place?]

The first text appeared in red while the other in blue.

He scoffed internally, the systems were trying to get him killed indeed and they weren't joking about it.

The systems wanted him to pick one of them with no assurance of his survival or if such a punishment would actually come true, but as long as they were trying to convince him, it meant that his answer was acceptable.

[If host reconsiders and chooses the Good Karma system the rewards would be altered to 5 unique skills.]

A text appeared in blue causing him to raise his brows in surprise.

[Host should reconsider the Bad Karma system, rewards would also be altered to 5 unique skills.]

'What's the point then? You are both offering the same thing,' He scoffed internally. It seemed it was time to negotiate.

[.....]

[.....]

'Can I pick both systems?' He asked, and once again the system gave no reply confirming his answer.

'Good, I pick both.' He announced to the systems again. His tone firmer this time.

[Host should reconsider]

Text in blue

'I pick both.' He remained firm on his decision.

[Host will regret his decision to pick both systems. Does host wish to proceed]

Text in red

He squinted his eyes, was the Bad Karma system trying to threaten him? Such a despicable thing, he was about to comment when a message appeared in blue text.

[Host will suffer greatly if host picks both systems. Does host wish to proceed]

His eyes twitched, he picks one he suffers, he picks none he suffers, he picks both he suffers, just what did these pieces of shit think they were!

'FUXK YOU!' He screamed at the systems.

'I pick both.' Even the Good Karma system seemed evil in his eyes at the moment.

[Good Karma system will now proceed with the rewarding of skills.]

[Good Karma system is a creation-based system. Skills rewarded will be creation-based.]
