Chapter 56 - Ch 56: Talk with Gojo

After the introduction, Gojo step out and I walked toward Yuta casually, hands in my pockets, ignoring the way his body subtly tensed when sensing someone was coming close to him. Up close, I could feel it even clearer now—that absurd cursed presence clinging to him like an invisible predator. It did turn up to me, but sensing that I wasn't a threat, it just ignored me.

I stopped in front of him, then smiled. "Relax."

He blinked. "Huh?"

"You look all tense from earlier; don't let the muscle heads bother you." I extended my hand. "Naoya Zenin."

He looked at my hand like it was a trap. Well, after what he experienced at entry, he would have his guard up. After a few seconds, he slowly shook it. His hand was cold. What is he? a vampire.

"I'm probably the friendliest person in this room."

"Oi."

Maki's voice immediately came from behind me.

I ignored her. After all, what I said was the truth; if one took my personality at face value, then I would need nothing from them. After all, desire creates friends and enemies. One who is allied to your desire becomes a friend, and one who opposes it becomes an enemy.

When I say that myself, I think I do desire something from him as he is going to the bait to hook Geto to me. Of course, I will ensure his safety; after all, I don't want one more bloodstain on my hand.

Yuta looked confused, but some of the tension in his shoulders eased. Given that from the first meeting, he thought it was going to be just like in his previous school, which bullied him. But seeing me, he realized that he might worry for nothing.

I turned slightly and pointed toward the others.

"That angry girl with glasses is Maki."

"Who are you calling angry?!"

I pointed toward Panda.

"That's Panda."

Panda raised a paw. "Sup."

Then toward Inumaki.

"And that quiet one is Toge."

"Salmon."

Yuta looked at all of them, still nervous, but I could see the tiniest bit of relief in his eyes. The atmosphere was becoming less like an execution chamber and more like an actual classroom. The atmosphere previously was due to Gojo; after all, he could hint to them about Yuta.

I patted him on the shoulder. "You'll survive here just fine." Then I grabbed my jacket from my chair and started walking toward the classroom door.

"Where are you going?" Maki asked suspiciously.

I waved a hand without turning around. "Got something to do." Then I stopped at the doorway and looked back toward the classroom.

My eyes moved from Maki… To Panda…finally to Inumaki… And I pointed at all three of them. "Don't bully him."

"..." Maki's eyebrow twitched without saying a word.

Panda grinned, and Inumaki tilted his head like he had no idea what I was talking about.

"…Who exactly here looks like the bully?" Three of them said it simultaneously, making me chuckle.

After I left the class, I walked to corridors of the classroom until I see Gojo leaning against the window.

"So what do you think about him?" Gojo said.

"I got myself goosebumps," I honestly said. Of course, there was also an instinct to run away due to the sheer pressure of curse energy. Gotta say, I know why Geto is targeting that curse. Even with my training and other exercise, I couldn't make my cursed energy reserve as big as Gojo's or other special grades'. My blinding vow does make up for it, but even then it will be good if my reserve is big, as if I use the blinding vow, I will be blind on a sneak attack on the battlefield.

I guess the curse energy reserve is something related to the body. And Naoya's body was weak to begin with. The only noticeable thing about the original Naoya was his speed after all, and his pathetic death. Well, I did break one death flag, and if I deal with Geto, then I am free from my burdens. Hope everything goes smoothly.

"I plan to send him and Maki to the hunting ground." Gojo said, to which I nodded. After all, Yuta still is a timid boy, who is still unable to use the great power dormant within him. And the quickest way to force him to use it.

I remember that in canon, Gojo used the exact strategy.

Did Maki get injured in the hunt? Because of how long it has been, I forgot most of the parts. Of course, I wrote down some of the important details in a diary; after all, even though I am in JJK, my knowledge is slim.

I should have read manga and paid attention to the explanation of each technique. Damn it. I once again lamented over my regrets.

"Just give a ground that won't give Maki too much pressure. After all, high exposure to curse energy is bad for her," I said to Gojo.

"Didn't you already give her some curse tool for that problem?"

"It's not perfect, is it?" I shook my head; because of Maki's special body constitution, Maki's curse energy resistance is very slight. In the presence of high-level curses, Maki will be affected by cursed energy poisoning.

"From what I understand, Yuta is a good-natured guy; if push comes to shove, then he will use his power to save Maki. And with you here, I doubt anything will happen to Maki and Mai." Then, as if remembering something, he looked at me with serious looks, though I couldn't see it as he was blindfolded, but his facial expression suggested that he was serious.

"On a completely different topic, what are your thoughts on killing all those old bastards from the high council?"

I looked at Gojo with a lazy eye, as I wasn't even surprised by the crazy question. "Please leave me out of this drama."
