I believe the biggest joke ever told was about mocking someone's trust in another. Like how can you trust someone? Each human has their own individuality; in that spectrum of individuality, each has their own do's and don'ts.
So how would one know the person they befriended or loved has a personality resonance with themselves? If you just say intuition, then won't it be similar to how a blind man crosses a road with a feeling that no car is running?
The chance of crossing the road depends entirely upon luck.
Then is trust entirely up to luck? I didn't know; I didn't have a definitive answer.
But I believe a notion of even shadows leaves you in the darkest of nights. So I am in surprise when I hear Gojo answer the question of mine, "How are you sure Yuta will not stab you in the back or lose control over himself?"
"I trust him,"
I know Yuta will go on a good path, but Gojo didn't know that, for all the care, Yuta with his overwhelming power can fall just like Geto. After all, power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts us absolutely.
That is basic truth everyone with minimum knowledge about human desire can speculate on themselves.
"How?" I asked. I wanted to know Gojo's mind on how he can say with certainty that Yuta will go on a good path. Where did his undeniable confidence stem from?
"I just know," Gojo said as he arm-rested on the window's border as he glared down to where Maki, Yuta, Panda, and Inumaki were training. "Isn't trusting someone the first thing before teaching them about anything else?"
"What if they sink their swords when we least expect it? Can you say with confidence that won't pass? What if, like those old geezers say, Yuta would become a disaster? He has the power; you are now training to control it, and with time he will also get a connection."
I know Yuta won't become that, but I am dying to know what Gojo's answer is; after all, he didn't know the future like I know.
Gojo looked at me for a bit; I would guess he raised an eyebrow, but given that his face is covered by his blindfold, I don't know. "To live is to experience sad reality. Just because we do good things doesn't mean we get a good outcome, but that doesn't mean we need to stop being good altogether." Then Gojo looked at where Yuta was training. "Look at him; he is happy at the present. If in the future he took a dark path, then I would just stop him, I do have that power after all."
Hearing all that, I just nodded in seriousness. I now know what Gojo is: "You are so gay, dude."
"I am straighter than the pole your mom dance on." Gojo said with a toothy smile.
"Too bad I don't have a mother," I laugh as I say it. I haven't till now seen Naoya's mother, and since I wasn't interested, I haven't searched for it either.
"What? Saw your face and run away from the house."
"Yes, just like your mom. I heard she's gone to buy tampon and didn't came back till now."
Both Gojo and Me literally started to roast each other.
"Oh, by the way, I picked up some unusual activities from Geto's side. " I suddenly become silent, hearing Gojo's words.
"What are we talking about?" I asked in a serious tone, my expression also following my words.
"Something like a difference in opinion, type of thing."
I become silent at that because I didn't remember anything like this. Did the plot start to change? If so, how? I believe I didn't touch anything significant to affect the plot.
If the plot changes, then my plan to kill Geto and retreat to the countryside will take another push back.
Please stop giving me tests. At least, allow something to go according to my plan.
"Is the information legit?"
Gojo nodded, "Yes." Then he asked me with his eyebrows raised, "I remember you telling me that you also put some tails on Geto. Didn't they inform you of nothing?"
"Yes, they didn't inform me of anything. The weird thing is my spy is going silent as of lately."
"Weird."
I mirror his thoughts exactly; it feels like someone is keeping close to my actions. But I don't remember offending anyone like that. I did search if the reason was I pissing of our clan elders but it was a negative.
"Hope nothing unforeseen happens."
