CHAPTER 18
Celia had agreed to go with Eugene to his place after being persuaded by him in five minutes. He noticed Eugene was a bit tipsy, but he was holding it together well enough.
Scanning the quiet garage, Celia realized he hadn't seen Eugene's security team follow them out.
"Okay… are you driving, or is one of your men?" he asked, keeping his tone light and cautious.
"Sent them all away, but they're still around," Eugene said, popping open the car doors. "Anyway, get in, Celia. Let's have some fun."
"I can't, I haven't finished my shift, Eugene," Celia dragged out softly, offering a timid, reluctant smile as he took a half-step back. "Maybe another time…"
"How about I pay you triple what you're earning at that casino tonight? Just come with me and fix me some drinks."
Celia widened his eyes, acting both surprised and deeply relieved, letting the desperate-student mask take full control. "That's… that's too much, Eugene. Alright, I'll come with you."
