Everyone was finally here.
All seven of them.
Alessandro was glad they had arrived, but at the same time, he was disappointed.
He hated waiting.
And worse, he had been here before all of them. He cleared his throat, a faint smile appearing on his face. But the smile didn't reach his eyes.
"I'm not happy seeing you all come late," he said.
He stood up slowly and unbuttoned his suit jacket.
The room immediately fell quiet. No one dared to interrupt him, even Lorenzo, who usually had something smart to say, remained quiet.
Alessandro looked around the table, his eyes moving from one person to another.
"You all know I don't like wasting my time." He paused. His fingers adjusted the cuff of his shirt before he placed both hands on the table. "So tell me… why exactly did I have to wait for all of you?"
The fat man shifted uncomfortably in his chair. "There was traffic on the …"
