The morning light was already sharp when Celia woke up. He had slept, but not well. His body felt heavy, and the argument from the night before still sat at the edge of his thoughts like something unfinished.
He sat up slowly, dragging a hand through his hair before stretching. His back cracked in protest, and he winced.
"Damn…" he muttered under his breath. After a moment, he reached for his phone. A new message was waiting.
Eugene: Car will pick you up at 7. Don't be late. Wear something proper. Send your address.
Celia stared at the screen, brows pulling together slightly. He didn't remember giving Eugene his number.
Celia: How did you get my number?
The reply came almost immediately.
Eugene: That's something I'll keep to myself. 7 p.m. Don't be late. Send the address.
Celia's thumbs hovered over the keyboard. He had almost started typing Alessandro's address before he stopped himself. What the hell am I doing?
