Right in another part of the city, Bitna returned home after her usual activities on Fridays. She smiled to herself at the thought of usual. There in the darkness of the dimly lit room, she found her father on the ground obviously drunk. She threw the money she had made after her evening work at him and turned to proceed to her room.
Wait, her father sudsenly said, staggering to his feet. Is this all the Prssident Choi gave you or you have stolen out of it. She looked at him, her face void of emotions. Stolen.. even the thought of how she got the money disgust her.
Well, her father continued, seems like we have to get you a new patronizer.
Bitna snapped but knew better not to complain, so she turned to leave. You won't walk out on me, like that her father reached for one of the empty alcohol bottle and smashed her on the head with it. She felt a pang of headache bad dizziness. Her head pounding and ringing in her ears bug she won't give him the satisfaction, she would never show her weakness. Moreover ,she had had to deal with this kind of pain a few times before and this was like the rest. Raising her head, she looked him dead in the eye with blood trickling down her face.
She thought she saw feaf flicker in his eyes but it was gone just as quickly as she blinked. She retreated to her room to disinfect her wound after which she laysd on her bed with a quiet hiss of pain. Her mind and thought were muddled up. All her life had always this way, long before she knew what life truly is. the last thing that came to her mind before she slept off was, hope seems really far away from her.
