The ballroom glittered like a field of stars.

Crystal lights reflected off marble floors. Soft music filled the air. Every important name in the business world had gathered tonight — and every eye turned when Arjun Malhotra entered.

With Isha beside him.

Her steps were steady, but inside she felt the weight of a thousand judgments. Expensive dresses, cold smiles, whispered conversations… she didn't belong to this world.

But she would not show fear.

Arjun leaned slightly toward her. "Stay close."

"I'm not planning to run," she replied quietly.
