Her expression immediately fell.
"But she's awake."
"I know."
"And she's probably wondering whether I'm all right."
"We already told her you're stable."
Daniella was quiet for a moment before asking softly, "Did you tell her the baby is okay?"
Catalina's expression softened.
"Yes."
She released a small breath of relief and settled back against the pillows.
"Good."
Catalina gently stroked the back of her hand.
"You can see her when the doctors allow it. There's no need to rush."
Daniella nodded, although the concern remained visible in her eyes.
"I just want to thank her."
"You will," Catalina promised.
Daniella looked toward Santiago again, her voice becoming softer.
"She saved me."
Santiago held her gaze for a moment before answering quietly.
"Yes, she did."
There was no hesitation in his voice.
Daniella's eyes filled with tears, but she blinked them away before they could fall.
"I don't know what I would have done if she hadn't..."
