Chapter 1 - Honesty Is The Best Policy

Once upon a time, in a prosperous kingdom called Golden Realm, there lived a wise and aging king. He had ruled with justice and kindness for many years. The people loved him, and the land was fertile, peaceful, and full of joy.

The king had three sons. The eldest was named Time, the second was Power, and the youngest was Wind.

Each prince had a very different nature.

Time was calm, thoughtful, and patient. He believed that every problem had a proper moment and a careful solution. He listened more than he spoke and observed more than he acted.

Power was strong, brave, and confident. He believed strength could solve any problem. He trained daily with soldiers and thought that fear was the best way to control enemies.

Wind was clever, quick, and energetic. He moved fast, thought fast, and acted fast. But sometimes he acted before thinking everything through.

Although the king loved all three equally, he noticed that Power and Wind secretly envied their elder brother. The people respected Time because of his wisdom and gentle nature. This jealousy slowly grew inside their hearts.

The King's Final Test

As the king grew older, he decided to test his sons to see who was worthy of the throne.

He called them and said,

"My sons, travel to different parts of the kingdom. Solve the problems of the people using your own abilities. The one who proves himself worthy shall inherit the crown."

Power went to the northern mountains, where bandits had been attacking villages. With his great strength and fearless army, he defeated the bandits in fierce battles. The people cheered for him. But after he left, smaller groups of criminals returned, because fear alone did not create lasting peace.

Wind traveled to the coastal region, where storms had destroyed farms and homes. He quickly organized workers and rebuilt houses in record time. He created fast communication routes and brought temporary relief. But because everything was rushed, many structures were weak and collapsed during the next storm.

Time went to a region divided by a long-standing conflict between two towns fighting over water rights. Instead of using force or speed, he sat with the elders of both towns. He listened patiently to their complaints. He studied old records and understood the real cause of the problem. After weeks of careful negotiation, he created a fair system of sharing water and established clear agreements.

Months later, the mountain villages were again troubled by crime. The coastal region faced damage once more. But the two towns where Time had worked were peaceful and prosperous. Farmers cooperated. Trade increased. Harmony returned.

Jealousy Turns to Plot

Power and Wind grew more jealous. They whispered among themselves,

"Time does nothing impressive. He just talks and waits."

They tried to convince the king that Time was wasting royal resources. But the king secretly sent trusted advisors to investigate. They returned with glowing reports of lasting peace and wise governance.

The king then understood clearly who was most fit to rule.

The Crown of Wisdom

Soon after, the king fell seriously ill. On his final day, he gathered the royal court and declared,

"Strength protects a kingdom. Speed moves a kingdom forward. But only wisdom and patience can guide it through time. Therefore, my eldest son, Time, shall be the next king."

Power and Wind felt ashamed. They realized their jealousy had blinded them.

When Time became king, he surprised everyone. Instead of punishing his brothers, he gave them important roles. Power became the commander of the royal army, ensuring the kingdom's safety. Wind became the head of messengers and trade routes, bringing speed and connection to distant lands.

King Time ruled with fairness and foresight. He knew when to act, when to wait, and when to listen. Under his leadership, the kingdom flourished more than ever before.

People would say,

"Power gives protection. Wind brings movement. But Time brings wisdom."

And so, through patience, understanding, and forgiveness, Time became a great and beloved king, proving that true leadership is not about force or speed — but about knowing the right moment to act.
