Chapter 1 - Rebirth of the Fallen star

Myrias World

Novus Year 1028

Luminous Kingdom – Bright King City – District 5

The curtains of the second-floor bedroom fluttered gently in the morning breeze

On the bed lay a boy of fifteen or sixteen. His black hair was slightly disheveled, his fair skin pale under the sunlight. His delicate features still carried traces of childish softness, making him look more cute than handsome.

But his face was twisted in pain. His body trembled.

Then—

His eyes shot open.

He gasped, staring at the ceiling in disbelief.

"I've… reincarnated."

The words slipped out before he could stop them.

He was certain he had died.

Yet here he was.

Not only alive—

—but inside Myrias World.

His heart pounded.

In his previous life, he had read a novel called Myrias Ascension, recommended by a friend. And now, impossibly, he had been reborn as a character from that very story.

Alex Star.

A supporting character.

A tragic one.

Alex possessed talent rivaling everyone except the protagonist. Five elemental affinities at birth—an unheard-of blessing. Yet he squandered it through laziness and indulgence.

His end?

He died in his second year at Brightlight Magic Academy—filled with regret and despair.

A waste of potential.

A stepping stone for others.

The memory made Alex's stomach tighten.

"I won't let that happen."

He sat up slowly, clenching his fists.

It was Novus Year 1028.

Magic Academy would begin in 1029.

He had one year.

One year to change fate.

Myrias meant "Myriad Magic." True to its name, the world was overflowing with countless magical systems, branches, and elements.

The most common elements were:

Fire

Water

Earth

Wind

Rarer elements included:

Light

Darkness

Spirit

And then there were unique, exotic elements—Star, Blood, Void, and more.

Most people awakened their talent at age six. Education followed a strict path:

4 years of Elementary Education

5 years of Middle Education

1 preparation year before Magic Academy

At sixteen, those who qualified entered the true battlefield—Brightlight Magic Academy.

Only 500 students were accepted every year.

The academy lasted six years.

It was the strongest magic academy in the world.

Founded after the great Nexus Calamity by the legendary Ray Luminous—the "Sage of Light"—it stood as a beacon of hope. Ray Luminous and his allies had saved the world from destruction.

Even today, the academy remained independent, unaffiliated with any kingdom.

Among its most famous graduates was David Grayheart, known as the "Grey Hound of War," who reached Tier 8 by the age of 46.

The current dean?

A Tier 9 powerhouse.

The strongest publicly known human alive.

Power Structure and Strength in this world was divided into Nine Tiers.

Tier 1 to Tier 9.

Though different systems existed—remnants of ancient eras—magic was the most common path.

Magic beasts also existed, ranked similarly from Tier 1 to 9.

However, bloodline mattered.

There were records of a Tier 6 dragon annihilating a kingdom guarded by a Tier 7 powerhouse.

Power wasn't always linear.

The world was at least a thousand times larger than Earth.

The Four Great Powers ruled the myrias world.

Its strongest forces were not merely kingdoms — they were the pillars that upheld the balance of Myrias. Their influence shaped history, determined wars, and decided the fate of entire races.

Luminous Kingdom – The dominion of humankind and the most politically dynamic power in the world. Founded by the legendary Ray Luminous, it symbolized ambition, adaptability, and relentless progress. Humans were born with shorter lifespans compared to other races, but they possessed extraordinary growth potential. Through continuous breakthroughs in magical realms, a human mage could greatly extend their life. A Tier 5 mage could live well beyond two centuries, while those who stepped into the higher tiers could approach lifespans once thought exclusive to ancient races. This hunger for advancement drove human society forward. Their cities blended magic with modern innovation, their academies nurtured prodigies, and their armies were known for discipline and strategic brilliance.

Forging Heaven – A mountainous empire ruled by dwarves, masters of forging, runic inscriptions, and artifact creation. Their cities were carved into colossal mountain ranges, illuminated by flowing magma rivers and radiant mana crystals. Dwarves naturally possessed longer lifespans than humans, but their greatest advantage lay in craftsmanship. A single grand artifact forged in Forging Heaven could alter the tide of war. As dwarven masters advanced through magical realms, their bodies became as resilient as the weapons they crafted, further increasing their longevity and endurance.

Elfia – The ancient homeland of the elves, hidden deep within sacred forests protected by powerful enchantments. Elves were naturally attuned to mana and possessed lifespans stretching for centuries even without cultivation. However, when an elven mage broke through higher magical tiers, their life could extend close to a millennium. Their mastery over wind, light, and nature magic was refined and precise. Though they rarely interfered with outside conflicts, their involvement in any war would tip the balance decisively.

Evergreen Spirit Forest – A mysterious and semi-mythical domain said to exist between dimensions, where spirits were born and evolved. Unlike mortal kingdoms, Evergreen Spirit Forest was not ruled by a conventional monarch but by ancient Spirit Lords whose ages were unknown. Some scholars speculated that powerful spirits did not age in the traditional sense, instead evolving endlessly as their essence grew stronger. The forest itself seemed alive — conscious in ways even Tier 9 powerhouses struggled to comprehend.

In Myrias, lifespan was not fixed by birth alone.

Strength determined time.

Every breakthrough in magical realms refined the body, purified the soul, and strengthened the life force. To ascend was not merely to gain power — it was to defy mortality itself.

And at the peak of Tier 9?

Some whispered that death could be postponed indefinitely.

Whether that was truth or legend—

No one knew for certain.

There were other kingdoms, but none rivaled these four.

Alex currently lived in the Luminous Kingdom, in Bright King City—the city named after Brightlight Magic Academy.

The academy stood at its center.

Alex exhaled slowly.

He wasn't some commoner.

The Star family was a branch of the ducal Starlight family—renowned for their affinity with the rare Star element.

He was the last surviving member of the Star branch.

His parents had died in a magical beast attack. Afterward, the Starlight family took him in due to his exceptional innate talent and his father's friendship with the family head.

They provided him:

A large two-story house in Bright King City

A private basement training chamber

Magic-gathering arrays

Gravity enhancement formations

Unlimited financial support

In short—

He had every advantage.

And in the novel, he wasted all of it.

Because everything was handed to him, he became complacent.

Lazy.

Arrogant.

Useless.

Alex stood up and walked toward the mirror.

A young face stared back at him. Those purple eyes seemed to hold stars within them.

"This time… I won't waste it."

In the original story, the main cast would enter the academy already near peak Tier 1.

He?

He hadn't even trained seriously yet.

But he had knowledge.

He knew future events.

He knew opportunities.

He knew hidden resources.

If he used this year correctly…

He could at least stand on equal footing.

And maybe—

Just maybe—

Surpass them.

He turned toward the basement door.

There was one year left.

And this time…

Alex Star would rise.
