Chapter 3 - Inspecting the Goods? I'm talking about the assets!

"No rush."

He opened his eyes, a playful curve on his lips.

"Before going to the university, I should at least 'inspect the goods,' shouldn't I?"

"Inspect the goods?"

Mu Qingxue was stunned for a moment, then a flush of ecstatic red instantly spread across her delicate face.

Inspect the goods!

Sir is going to inspect the goods!

She finally, finally doesn't have to be a "light hole" anymore!

She had waited for this day for too long!

"Yes, Sir! I am ready to accept your inspection at any time!" Her voice trembled with excitement, and her body involuntarily shifted closer to Jiang Xun.

Jiang Xun looked at her, struggling to maintain his composure.

No, my friend, when I said 'inspect the goods,' I meant your assets! What kind of wild thoughts are going through your head?

However... seeing her so excited, it seemed quite interesting.

Jiang Xun cleared his throat, deciding to go along with the misunderstanding.

"Hmm, good attitude. First, let's go see the villa you prepared, and I'll assess your preparation work."

"Yes, Sir!"

Mu Qingxue immediately sat up straight and ordered the driver in front with an undeniable tone, "To Villa No. 1, Yunqi Mountain Villa! As fast as possible!"

The cullinan started smoothly and swiftly, quickly merging into traffic.

Forty minutes later, the car stopped in front of a modern villa built into the mountainside.

The villa's design was very futuristic, with large floor-to-ceiling windows and white walls interspersed. At the entrance, there was also a huge infinity pool, its surface reflecting the blue sky and white clouds.

"Sir, please come in."

Mu Qingxue rushed ahead of the driver, opened the car door for Jiang Xun, then jogged forward to unlock the villa's main door with her fingerprint and iris scan.

As Jiang Xun entered the villa, his first impression was its sheer size.

A living room with a ceiling over ten meters high, a giant wraparound sofa, and an entire wall-sized ultra-large screen, fully loaded with technology.

"Sir, please have a seat first." Mu Qingxue diligently offered him slippers, then took out a bottle of mineral water with an unidentifiable label from the wine cabinet, twisted open the cap, and respectfully handed it to Jiang Xun.

Jiang Xun took a sip, feeling it was no different from his two-yuan-a-bottle water.

He looked around, his gaze finally settling on a relatively independent area in the corner of the living room.

It was actually a professional e-sports room.

Triple-screen curved monitors, ergonomic gaming chairs, RGB-lit mechanical keyboards and mice—the setup clearly came with a hefty price tag.

"You play games too?" Jiang Xun asked casually.

Unexpectedly, this question seemed to flip a switch in Mu Qingxue.

Her eyes lit up, and she immediately straightened her posture, her face beaming with an excited, almost meritorious expression.

"Yes, Sir! To better accompany my future partner, I have diligently practiced gaming skills for a long time!"

"I mainly play support and jungle roles, am proficient in all mainstream heroes, and am at the King tier with a thousand stars. I can team up with you anytime to guarantee a great gaming experience!"

"If you get tired of playing, I can also provide professional coaching services to help you climb the ranks."

She finished speaking in one breath, her chest still slightly heaving with excitement, her eyes full of the expectation of "praise me, praise me."

Jiang Xun was utterly convinced.

"[Competitive, too damn competitive! To marry a man, she even has to practice games to a professional level? The women in this world must face immense pressure to survive!]"

His female teammates from his previous life, who only hindered his sword-drawing speed, were practically prehistoric creatures compared to the woman in front of him.

Just then, Mu Qingxue's phone in her pocket vibrated slightly.

She quickly glanced at it, a hint of nervousness flashing across her face.

"What's wrong?" Jiang Xun asked lazily.

"N-nothing, Sir." Mu Qingxue quickly put her phone away, forcing a perfect smile. "It's a push notification from the Tianhe Project official APP, reminding me that I am already your pending partner and need to quickly familiarize myself with the 'Married Women's Code of Conduct' to prepare for the Male Care Association's follow-up visit next month."

"[Male Care Association?]"

A huge question mark popped up in Jiang Xun's mind.

"[What the hell is that? Sounds like an organization for protecting endangered species.]"

"Elaborate." Jiang Xun became interested.

"Yes, Sir." Mu Qingxue immediately stood straight, entering reporting mode. "The Male Care Association is an official organization responsible for safeguarding the marital rights of all male citizens. They conduct regular follow-ups and KPI assessments for us married women."

"Assessment criteria include, but are not limited to: household environment satisfaction, provision of emotional value to the partner, mastery of personal talents, and... harmony in marital life."

"If the KPI is not met, the association has the right to fine us, issue warnings, and in severe cases, even initiate a 'forced termination' procedure, freezing our marital status."

"[Holy crap! Marriage even has KPI assessments? Forced divorce if you fail?]

Jiang Xun felt his worldview being violently rubbed against the ground.

This wasn't marrying a wife; this was clearly hiring a lifelong, performance-reviewed contractor!

A more crucial question suddenly popped into his mind.

"So, what am I to you now...?"

Mu Qingxue's face flushed slightly, and her voice dropped, tinged with shyness and anticipation.

"According to official procedures, I am currently only your first 'concubine.' Only when you agree and operate on the Tianhe APP can I become your 'main wife.'"

"Of course, all of this is up to you. You are the master of this household and possess absolute authority."

"[Concubine? Main wife? Good heavens, am I directly dreaming of a feudal dynasty now?! A cyberpunk feudal dynasty managed by an APP!]

Jiang Xun felt as if he hadn't just transmigrated; he had directly upgraded to the sole internal test player of Life OL, starting with GM permissions.

He looked at the woman before him, who possessed wealth, beauty, and wisdom, yet was so cautious for the title of "main wife." That mischievous streak in him began to surface again.

Games, after all, are more fun when played slowly.

"Playing games and such, no rush."

Jiang Xun leaned back, sinking into the soft sofa, and shifted into a more comfortable position.

"I've seen the asset report; it's very smooth."

"Now, I want to see your... talent report."

He deliberately emphasized the word "talent."

"Inspecting the goods" shouldn't just be about inanimate assets; it should also be about the living person.

Mu Qingxue was visibly stunned, then an even stronger surge of ecstasy, more intense than when "inspecting the goods" was first mentioned, rushed across her delicate face.

It's here!

The real ultimate test is here!

Assets and gaming skills were just basic points.

Talent was the bonus point that would determine her future family status!

"Yes, Sir!" Her voice rose by an octave due to excitement. "I have prepared many talents for you! Piano, tea ceremony, classical dance, flower arrangement... Which would you like to see first?"

She was like a little girl eager to show off all her treasures, wishing she could display all eighteen martial arts in front of Jiang Xun.

Jiang Xun almost laughed out loud at her eager expression.

He waved his hand, interrupting her with a somewhat dismissive tone.

"Stop."

"Piano? Common."

"Tea ceremony? Drowsy."

"Dancing? Heh, haven't I seen enough of that on short videos?"

With each word Jiang Xun spoke, Mu Qingxue's face grew paler.

By the end, there was no trace of color left on her flawless face, and her body began to tremble slightly.

It's over.

Everything was something he disliked.

All her carefully prepared efforts were worthless in his eyes.

Could it be... that today she would have her KPI deducted and lose this hard-won opportunity?

Just as Mu Qingxue felt the sky was about to collapse, Jiang Xun slowly spoke.

"I want to see something... different."
