Chapter 30 - Chapter- 30

"But I am much more ruthless, Michael. I am much more ruthless." Mark said, "After all, I did kill all those people, all those students, so maybe, maybe, you would've made the right choice. No, wait, even if you had made the right choice, I still would've killed your entire family because of Nora, so whatever. Maybe you did the right thing by accepting the offer, for that I will be deducting 1 mark out of 10, heightening your family's misery by one point."

One mark out of..... what?

Shocked and fearful, Michael and his family looked at Mark, feeling as if he was insane, but the insanity hadn't even ended when Mark continued, "This question is for three marks, so you better give me a good answer, cuz I truly don't want you guys to fail this exam and get zero marks. Ready." As expectantly he looked at Michael, making him feel so disgusted that he nearly threw up right there and then.

But not caring about his emotions, Mark continued after pausing for three seconds and giving enough time to Michael, "How did you all come here to this island? Where were you when you got sucked into the sky? And where did you appear when you fell on this island?"

Absorbing all the questions in, Michael sorted his answer as he replied, "W-We were in an ambulance taking Erin's father to the hospital. He got heavily injured during the stampede because of all the ruckus you caused. And we were near the Costa Mountain, from where the way was much shorter to Victor Hospital. And we fell right here where we are...…."

"So this is why you tried to bring me here. I understand now." Mark cut the conversation in between "But where is Erin's father? Did he die or something?"

Stifling, Michael nodded his head, without saying anything, making Mark ask another question. "Then how did you all get out alive from here? Ants mustn't have let you all go."

"It's Noah. His gift allows us to become invisible in the sight of any creature as long as we don't attack first, but once we do and other creatures see us, we become completely visible." Michael replied, making Mark look at Noah up and down, not knowing how to assess this moronic kid.

"Then why did you leave this place? Isn't this place like a heaven for you lots or something?" Asked Mark in confusion.

"We had to. Ants run everywhere and survey their surroundings like crazy. They barely leave any place alone. We had to run everywhere just to not get touched by them. A single touch, and we all would've ended up dead. Plus, we had to look for Nora, so we decided to leave." Michael answered.

"Oh, then how did you end up in the mess with the wolves? Don't tell me you were moronic enough to attack a pack of wolves with your meager strength?" Asked Mark, even though he somewhat knew the answer to the question.

"We weren't. There was just one wolf, and we were hungry, plus, we had the absolute advantage, so we pierced its neck to kill it, just for it to multiply." Michael replied, confusing Mark again, "Why did you not pierce its eyes instead and kill it instantly? Why go for the neck? Don't tell me you perverts like to see your victims die painfully. I will be deducting one mark for that too, so two marks are gone now, puff, puff."

Choked and helpless, Michael and others wanted to scream that they weren't him, who could just shove a knife in someone's eye as if nothing.

Even piercing the neck, they had felt as if they had gone through hell, just for the hell to descend upon them, and now they had been deducted two points for something that was easy and simple in Mark's eyes, making them feel that as if they were descending into the hell deeper, getting pushed to the lower floors with each question.

"What about the three marks? How many did we get for that?" Asked Michael desperately, making Mark think a little and speak, "1 Mark. Your answer was very short. It was a thousand-word answer, so be grateful."

Feeling helpless, all Michael wanted to do was to take the knife, which was now in Mark's hand, and shove it thousands of times in his stomach to see the kid die the most painful death he could give him.

But all he could do was stay silent and let his tears fall mundanely, but not caring about all this crying drama, Mark turned his face towards Nora, making her so afraid that she hid her face in her mother's bosom.

"Nora darling, let's get back to the topic that we had previously ended, this question will give you no mark, but Noah's life is at stake for this. If you gave me an honest answer, I will let him live; otherwise, well..... I haven't thought about what I will do with him, but it won't be good, you just need to know that. So tell me, what did you say to Carl to make him go insane enough to bring 49 students to come and beat me?" Mark asked, as he intently stared at Nora, making tears stream down her eyes like raindrops falling from the sky.

"I said nothing, Mark, I promise. It was all Brock. I just did not stop him, I couldn't, he is insane, he….. he is a mad person, Mark, he is a mad person. I don't know what secret you know of his, but he did not wanted to let that out at any cost. For that, he was ready to do anything. I was simply afraid and kept quiet, but I never thought things would reach to such a height and become such a mess. I promise, Mark, I am not lying. Please, trust me." Nora sobbed as she desperately tried to explain everything.
