Chapter 27 - From a Jade Branch | 05.05.2025

Of dragon hide and lone demise,

Nature keeps silent as I surmise

The sun that has lost its solemn light.

Toss a coin in the well, past those berry bushes

And that silver-lined pond. Clutch onto the fruit that

Stone well gives you, keep it tucked close to your chest.

Beneath the moss and willow leaves,

Keep watch of the crow above jaded trees.

Stay close to my shadow, lest we be deceived.

The fruit you traded for coin beckons the moon,

And the tides retrieve the light of the sun.

A stowaway, you feel that you are—

With that slight tongue and mist-veiled eyes.

I've whispered birdsong into the night,

Wrapped tightly in twine and bitter plight

As the sun bears fruit in the silent dawn.
