Chapter 2 - Defeat The Enemy

Jun caught his breath, muscles screaming, but the glow from the map caught his attention again. A new marker appeared, pulsing slower, heavier… like it carried weight.

[System: Primary Target – Level Unknown]

Jun froze. Something about it made the air itself feel wrong. A memory stabbed through the haze in his mind—the flash of a blade, the searing pain in his back, the look in the bastard's eyes.

"That motherfucker…" Jun muttered, jaw tightening. Rage bubbled under his skin, raw and hot. "You think I forgot?"

The shadows around him seemed to twist, elongate, and from the darkness, a figure emerged. Not hunched like before. Tall, imposing, moving with calm precision. The kind of calm that screams danger.

Jun's stomach sank. This was him—the one who had betrayed him, the one who'd left him for dead. His eyes were sharp, calculating, and they didn't just look at Jun—they pierced him.

"You've survived… better than I expected," the figure said, voice smooth, almost mocking. "But surviving won't save you."

Jun spat blood onto the ground, gripping his weapon tighter. "Save me? Ha… you think I need saving? I'm gonna tear your ass apart first."

The figure smiled—a thin, cold thing—and stepped forward. The air seemed to hum around him. "Good. I was hoping you'd say that."

[System: Boss Encounter Initiated – Betrayer Target]

Jun's hands shook—not really from fear exactly, but from anticipation. "Alright, motherfucker… let's finish this."

The air between them thickened, heavy and electric. Jun's hands shook, not with fear, but with that familiar hunger—the kind that comes when you've been betrayed and left for dead.

The Betrayer Target didn't rush. He just stood there, calm, calculating, letting Jun make the first move. His smile was thin, cruel, the kind that cuts deeper than any blade.

Jun lunged. Not with finesse—he never did finesse. Just pure, raw anger. His fist connected with the man's chest, sending sparks of pain through his own wrist from the impact. The Betrayer didn't flinch. Not even a twitch. Can you imagine not even a twitch.

"You've grown weak," the man said, voice like ice. "Did you really think you could survive this long without me noticing?"

Jun gritted his teeth. "Weak? I've been busting my ass through monsters and shit like you… and now? Now you're here? Too bad for you, asshole."

He swung again, this time with the jagged pipe, but the man caught it with one hand—just a casual grip—and twisted. Jun felt his arm go numb, his teeth gritted.

"You're predictable," the Betrayer said, stepping closer, calm as if he was taking a stroll. "I knew you'd come for me. And now… it's my turn to play."

The ground shook suddenly, cracks spider-webbing outward from where the Betrayer planted his foot. Jun stumbled but kept his eyes locked on him. Rage, pain, betrayal—it all poured into one thing: focus.

"Play? You already played me, motherfucker. And now…" Jun's voice was low, dangerous, "you're gonna pay."

[System: Battle – Primary Target Engaged. Difficulty: Extreme.]

Jun's chest heaved. Blood and sweat mixed on his skin. Every muscle screamed, but he wasn't stopping. Not until this fucker was nothing.

The Betrayer's eyes glowed faintly now, a signal Jun didn't fully understand—but he didn't need to. All he knew: this was the fight that mattered. And he was done holding back.

Jun charged, adrenaline burning through every vein. He swung the jagged pipe with all his strength, but the Betrayer stepped aside effortlessly, moving like liquid.

"You're slower than I thought," the man taunted, his voice calm, deadly. "I almost feel sorry for you."

Jun growled, slamming his shoulder into a wall and using it to launch himself forward. He aimed a kick at the man's chest. The Betrayer caught it midair, twisting Jun sideways. Pain exploded through his ribs, but Jun landed on his feet. He spat blood.

"Almost feel sorry for me? Fuck you," Jun hissed, charging again. "I don't do almost!"

He swung again—pipe, fists, elbows, anything he could reach—but the Betrayer dodged every strike with unnerving ease. Then, without warning, the man's hand shot out, slamming into Jun's shoulder. Pain shot up his arm like fire. Jun gritted his teeth, swinging blindly, connecting with… air.

"You're predictable," the Betrayer said, stepping back, smirk growing. "You're still the same Jun I left for dead."

Jun growled low, teeth clenched. "Yeah? That Jun's dead, asshole. You're about to meet the new one."

He lunged, rolling low, slamming his elbow into the man's knee. The Betrayer stumbled slightly—just enough. Jun's eyes narrowed. He grabbed a chunk of broken metal from the ground, swinging it like a bat. Sparks flew as it hit the man's shoulder.

Jun's grin was wild, dangerous. "Finally… you're bleeding, motherfucker."

The Betrayer wiped blood from his shoulder, chuckling softly. "Good. I was hoping you'd actually fight back."

The ground cracked again as the man moved, faster this time. Jun barely dodged, scraping his arm. Pain, fire, rage—it all mixed into one thing: focus. He wasn't just fighting for survival. He was fighting for his revenge.

[System: Warning – Critical Battle Phase Initiated.]

Jun's eyes blazed. "I don't give a fuck about your warnings!" He sprinted, body low, swinging the pipe like a weapon of pure anger. He hit the man square in the gut. The Betrayer staggered, blood spilling from his mouth.

"Fuck… finally," Jun muttered, chest heaving. "You're not untouchable, motherfucker."

The Betrayer straightened, wiping the blood from his mouth, eyes cold. "You're still weaker than me… but at least you've got guts."

Jun growled, raising the pipe for one final strike. "Guts? This is more than guts. This is the part where you die."

---

Jun's muscles screamed, his arms shaking with exhaustion, but he didn't care. Every strike, every hit, every scar—it all led to this moment. The Betrayer lunged, faster than Jun expected, aiming straight for his chest.

Jun sidestepped at the last second, swinging the jagged pipe with everything left in him. The metal connected with a sickening crunch, hitting the man's side. The Betrayer stumbled, eyes wide, and Jun didn't hesitate.

He ran, tackled him to the ground, and slammed the pipe down again and again. Blood mixed with sweat, painting the floor like chaos incarnate.

Jun paused, chest heaving, staring down at the broken, bloodied figure beneath him. Silence. Except for his own ragged breathing.

The Betrayer coughed, blood dripping from his lips, and gave a weak, bitter laugh. "Not… bad… Jun… not bad…"

Jun spat on him, shaking with fury and exhaustion. "You stabbed me in the back… left me for dead… and now? Now you're done."

The man's eyes dimmed, his body going still. Jun stood, breathing hard, looking around at the aftermath of the fight—the blood, the cracked floor, the chaos.

[System: Primary Target Eliminated. Experience +200. Level Up.]

Jun ran a hand through his hair, blood on his fingers, a grim smirk forming. "Finally… that motherfucker got what he deserved."

But even as he wiped the sweat and blood from his face, his eyes flicked to the glowing map again. More objectives. More danger.

Jun chuckled low, a dangerous, bitter sound. "Yeah… this shit isn't over. Not by a long shot."
