Chapter 59 - Chapter 59: Another Talking Chimpanzee

The air in the underground sorting center was thick with the stench of moldy engine oil mixed with rotting flesh. The massive conveyor belts had long since stopped moving, now piled high with human luggage and dried bloodstains.

Omeros, the giant chimpanzee who walked upright, was pacing irritably in front of a massive Mental Control Sarcoma. His bloodshot eyes were fixed on the entrance, watching the battered and wounded Special Infected stumble back, thick white puffs of breath snorting from his nostrils.

"Why did only one return?"

Omeros's voice was raspy and deep, yet it carried a layer of nearly icy calm without a hint of mania; his grammar was also surprisingly standard. He tilted his head in confusion, several sparse hairs on his massive skull swaying with the movement.

Just then, his keen senses caught a slight fluctuation in the air. It was the sound of heavy combat boots stepping on the concrete floor, deliberately muffled, yet in the silence of the underground space, it sounded like thunder.

Omeros snapped his head around, staring into the dark corner.

Two extremely tall and powerful figures slowly emerged from the darkness.

"Who is it?" Omeros growled warily.

But when he saw clearly that the newcomers carried no firearms, not even tactical knives, and were completely empty-handed, his originally tensed nerves instantly relaxed, replaced by an extreme sense of contempt and arrogance.

"Heh... just weak humans."

Omeros bared his teeth, revealing two rows of sharp fangs, and let out a piercing, mocking laugh. "Just two of you? You dare come here to seek death? Where are your guns? Where are your cannons? Do you think being a bit taller means you can contend with higher beings?"

In his philosophy, the only reason humans could rule the Earth was because of those fire-spitting iron tubes. Once they lost their weapons, humans were the most fragile protein on the planet, unable to even beat a wild dog. And these two big idiots before him actually dared to enter his territory empty-handed; it was simply an insult to "evolution".

Super Soldier No. 2 merely watched him coldly without speaking, as if looking at a talking corpse.

Meanwhile, Super Soldier No. 1 slowly took a step forward, letting out a playful and cruel sneer from beneath his mask:

"Heh... a talking little monkey."

At the same time, far away in the command center of the F University Fortress.

Lin Xuan was watching this arrogant chimpanzee coldly through the first-person feed transmitted back by the Super Soldiers. On the screen, Omeros's appearance—wearing a human tactical vest, a bone necklace, and mimicking human speech while despising humans—made Lin Xuan feel a sense of physiological discomfort.

"This kind of bastard that wants to enjoy the fruits of human civilization while despising humans to its core..." Lin Xuan's fingers tapped lightly on the desk, his eyes reflecting a bone-chilling coldness. "It's truly nauseating to watch. It is the ultimate desecration of the word 'evolution'. Crush it; don't let it make another sound."

The command was instantly transmitted through the communication network to the two Super Soldiers' devices.

Inside the underground nest, the atmosphere instantly froze.

Omeros seemed to sense that the killing intent emanating from the two men was no bluff; that sense of pressure made him instinctively feel a trace of unease. His eyes darted around as he tried to stall for time and find a weakness.

"Shall we chat? Human." Omeros retracted his fangs slightly, pretending to be open to negotiation. "Perhaps we could..."

"I'm not talking to you for shit!"

Super Soldier No. 1 roared, not falling for it at all. As his legs were about to exert explosive force, the concrete floor beneath his feet instantly shattered.

"Damn it!"

Seeing this, Omeros's expression changed drastically. He leaped backward violently while simultaneously reaching out to slam down a red industrial button on a nearby pillar.

"Beep—BOOM!!!"

High explosives already planted beneath the second-floor hall floor detonated instantly.

The violent explosion was deafening, making the entire underground sorting center shake violently. Countless tons of reinforced concrete floor slabs, massive load-bearing beams, and tons of rubble crashed down like the sky was falling, striking with destructive force directly at the two Super Soldiers who were about to charge.

Dust rolled and debris flew.

In just an instant, those two black figures were completely buried under a mountain of ruins.

The moment he pressed the button, Omeros had used his incredible agility to dodge into a safe zone with a few leaps. He stood atop a pile of shipping containers, brushed the dust off himself, and looked at the motionless ruins with a triumphant, cruel grin appearing on his face again.

"Simple-minded humans."

He spat and spoke with disdain.

"Only knowing how to use brute force, without any understanding of tactics. Even if you're made of iron, you won't survive being flattened into a pancake. Alright, time to change locations; it's not safe here..."

Having finished speaking, he turned to evacuate through a secret passage.

However, the very instant he turned and took his first step.

"BANG—!!!"

The previously silent ruins suddenly exploded outward!

A massive concrete block the size of a car was actually thrown out of the ruins by sheer force! It whistled through the air, hurtling toward Omeros's back like a meteorite.

Omeros felt a foul wind approaching from behind, and his beastly intuition saved his life. At the critical moment, he violently twisted his body, completing a dodge in mid-air with an extremely contorted posture.

"BOOM!!"

The giant rock grazed his scalp and flew past, slamming into the container where he had just been standing, instantly flattening it.

"What?!"

Omeros was still shaken, but thinking he had landed perfectly and was preparing to adjust his stance to counterattack, a massive shadow suddenly appeared in his vision.

Before he could see what it was, a large black hand, like a dark cloud blotting out the sun, directly covered his entire face!

"Got you, little monkey."

Super Soldier No. 1 had emerged from the ruins unharmed at some point and was now right in front of Omeros.

In that moment, Omeros felt only a dizzying sense of weightlessness and a sharp pain radiating from his skull.

Super Soldier No. 1 grabbed Omeros's head with one hand as if holding a basketball. Using the terrifying explosive power of his waist and arms, he swung the mutated chimpanzee, which weighed hundreds of kilograms, directly into the air and hurled him toward the other side!

"Catch."

In mid-air, Omeros flailed his limbs, trying to grab onto something to steady himself, but he found to his despair that the other Super Soldier had already been waiting there for a long time.

Super Soldier No. 2 opened his arms like an iron tower waiting for prey to hit the net.

The moment Omeros flew in front of him, Super Soldier No. 2 slammed his arms shut, giving the chimpanzee a lethal "bear hug".

It wasn't a hug; it was the crushing force of a hydraulic press.

"Ugh—!!!"

Omeros felt his entire skeleton screaming in agony as the air in his lungs was squeezed out instantly, the intense suffocation causing his eyeballs to bulge.

In the next second, Super Soldier No. 2's inhumanly strong hands gripped Omeros's body. With a violent twist of his torso, he slammed the chimpanzee into the ground like a tattered ragdoll!

"BOOM—!!!"

A deafening roar erupted, shaking the entire underground space. The hard concrete floor instantly shattered, caving in to form a crater several meters in diameter as rubble mixed with blood spray flew everywhere.

Omeros didn't even have time to scream. That head, once filled with arrogance and wisdom, burst like a crushed rotten tomato the moment it hit the ground, splattering red and white brain matter and bone fragments everywhere. Then followed his spine, chest, internal organs... shattering layer by layer under the tens of thousands of pounds of force, turning into a blur of mangled flesh.

The immense destructive power completely annihilated his body.

When Super Soldier No. 2 slowly stood up, only a blurred mess of meat fragments remained on the ground, along with that string of Finger-bone Necklaces that was still intact, looking incredibly ironic now.

The mutated chimpanzee that had once been so arrogant and wanted to build its own kingdom had now become "meat paste" in the truest sense.

"Target cleared."

Super Soldier No. 2 shook the blood off himself, his voice devoid of emotion.

"What a lowly species, to dare be so arrogant." Super Soldier No. 1 walked over and directly kicked the still-pulsing Mental Control Sarcoma, bursting it.

With the rupture of the sarcoma, all the zombies in the airport that had been resisting in an organized manner instantly lost their command, reverting back to aimless walking corpses.
