Chapter 1 - The Discovery

Introduce Elias. He is a man who lives by the second, a master clockmaker in a world that uses digital screens. He sits in The Rusty Bean cafe. He finds the blue leather notebook left behind on a velvet chair.

He opens the book. It's not a diary of the past; it's a list of "Visions." The first page says: "I want to remember the exact shade of honey in the sunlight before the shadows take it."

Elias becomes obsessed. The writing is poetic, urgent, and beautiful. He realizes the writer is describing things she is afraid to forget.

He sees a woman rush into the cafe, panicked. She has striking, pale green eyes that seem to look through things rather than at them. This is Clara.
