Type-416(Hulls26)

The Legend of Hull 26: The Final Stand

The year is 2034. World War III has erupted, and the globe is engulfed in the flames of conflict. On one side stands the Allied forces—comprising Japan, the United States, Great Britain, and NATO members—pitted against an axis of China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran. Amidst this chaos, one warship on the Pacific front refused to retreat. She was known as the Type-416.

The Type-416 was a frigate-class vessel secretly constructed in 2016 at the Ichigura Shipyard. Also designated as Hull 26, she was a high-tech marvel that took exactly two and a half years to build. Equipped with advanced stealth systems, Vertical Launch Systems (VLS), lasers, and cutting-edge technology, her arsenal included two 127mm MR75 main guns, a 6-cell VLS, G118 Double Cannons, and AK630 close-in weapon systems. She was launched on January 12, 2019, commissioned in 2021, and entered active service in 2024.

The ship was commanded by Captain Nishiyoda Takaauchi, leading a crew of 210 officers and sailors. Designed specifically for modern warfare, she was built to be ready for the battles of the future. In the years leading up to the war, Hull 26 performed routine patrols and training exercises with little actual combat experience. Now, the time for the real test had arrived. The crew was resolute.

"Colonel, the men are in high spirits," reported Major Takano Kusubu.

Captain Nishiyoda, his face cold and calm, asked, "What does the radar show?"

"On the enemy's radar, we appear as nothing more than a fishing boat. We are clear, Sir," reported the radar officer, Lieutenant Ichi.

"Maximum stealth. Ready the G118 Double Cannons and AK630s. Unlock the MR75 and 6-cell VLS. Fire as soon as the enemy is engaged."

"Understood, Colonel!"

Every sailor on board stood at the ready. Moments later, enemy ships and aircraft were detected on the radar.

"Enemy intrusion detected!"

"Fire!"

The roar of the onboard weaponry shook the sky. The air filled with the thunder of enemy artillery, the drone of bombers, the rattle of machine guns, and the cries of battle. Smoke shrouded the horizon. Under the relentless barrage of the AK630, MR75, and G118 Double Cannons, enemy aircraft were plucked from the sky one by one, and the enemy's primary vessels took heavy damage.

Captain Nishiyoda clenched his fists. With a heavy heart but a firm voice, he commanded, "Tell everyone: we fight to the end. No retreat." He knew they were outmatched, surrounded by superior enemy numbers. Yet, he refused to surrender.

"Keep firing the 6-cell VLS!"

Just then, a report came from the engine room: "Engine No. 2 is hit! The engine room is taking damage, and we are taking on water. Speed is dropping!"

"Proceed with Engine No. 1. Maintain speed!"

The Captain then took the microphone: "Comrades, our journey may end in these waters. Do not be afraid. We give our lives to protect Japan. Fight until the very end!"

"Banzai!" the crew shouted in unison.

The ship charged directly toward the enemy, exhausting every remaining round of ammunition in a final act of defiance. At exactly 10:00 PM on December 12, 2034, Hull 26 was struck by a final enemy shell, exploded, and sank. For a brief moment, the explosion lit up the dark sea like a rising sun before fading back into total darkness. The battle was over.

The sacrifice of Hull 26 remains etched forever in the annals of the Japanese Navy.
