Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Dear Truck-kun

"Dear Truck-kun, this is the 1753rd time I'm praying like this again. Please take me to another world where I can end this boring life of mine. The world is so boring but yet still hard to live in. At least, a magic world like those isekai animes or novels, where there was never any long peace but constant wars. That is the kind of world I wanna go to. I don't want peace! I want war!"

Michael, who woke up that morning, muttered seriously on his bedside, but deep inside, he was just joking about it, knowing such a thing as being reincarnated in another world was an impossible dream.

After he finished muttering his playful prayers, he got up from his bed and sighed.

"Haa! Another boring and predictable day," he muttered before walking into his bathroom to brush and take his bath.

After a while, he was in his kitchen cooking his meal as usual.

Michael was an orphan and was never adopted, but he never allowed his situation to determine his future. Rather, he began to hustle and worked as a freelancer in bricklaying, sometimes assisting health organisations whenever they needed temporary workers, and so on.

But he never spent any of his earned money until the day he bought an android phone and learnt hacking.

When he had enough money, he bought a laptop and improved his hacking skills until the day he became eighteen and was free from the orphanage home.

Unlike others who had to start from scratch, Michael had already earned a lot of money through hacking and other computing designs.

He immediately opened his own computer shop as a digital designer while secretly being a hacker.

But one day, he just got bored when he thought about everything.

Despite getting rich early, Michael wasn't satisfied, because he was introduced to the world of anime, novels, and more. And the one aspect he loved the most was isekai stories.

He watched how earthlings in another world got stronger, faced lots of tribulations in their journeys, and lived lives that seemed to have more meaning than his, even though they were only fictional.

Since then, he began praying for isekai as well, not the death and reincarnation type, but the transmigration type.

It didn't take long for his food to get done as Michael served it on a plate and sat on his dining chair. He was already in his early thirties but had no wife or family.

He felt having a family when he was already bored would only add more boringness to his life, especially after seeing how other families broke apart over issues that could be solved easily.

RINGGG! RINGGG!!

Michael had just begun eating when his phone started to ring. He picked it up and looked at the caller name. What he saw surprised him.

The caller name was Truck-kun.

"The hell? Which scammer wants to scam me?" Michael raised an eyebrow.

As a hacker himself, he knew a lot of scamming processes and was an expert in them, but he rarely did such things unless absolutely necessary.

"But for the person to use Truck-kun as their caller name… Hmph!" Michael scoffed.

Still, he picked up the call.

"Hello?" Michael said, curious about what this Truck-kun scammer wanted.

At first, from the other side of the call, there were skipping sounds, which made Michael frown, but slowly, the noises began to settle.

"He… hel… Hello! Can you hear me?! Hello?!" the caller shouted.

"Tch! What an amateur. If you want to scam a person, at least be good at it. This call of yours has already flagged you as a useless one," Michael said with annoyance, yet strangely feeling like teaching this newbie scammer something.

"What?! You got it wrong! I'm not a scammer! I'm Truck-kun! The one you pray to every single time you have the time!" the caller shouted.

"What? Blake, is that you? Or Mide? Dude, if you wanna play an early morning trick, nice try, but it won't work!" Michael said with a smile.

His prayers and dreams of an isekai life weren't personal secrets. His friends knew about it, even his neighbours did, which made them always mock him whenever he went out for work, since he was still living on Earth.

"No, I'm not your friends! I'm truly Truck-kun."

Now that Michael listened carefully to the voice and the way the caller was talking, he realised they weren't any of his friends.

"Dude! I don't know who you are, but if you try to disturb my life with this type of boring nonsense, I'll press charges against you and make you waste some time in prison," Michael said in a threatening tone.

"Ara Ara! You don't believe me. Well, it's nothing serious since you are the first person I have ever called, but by this afternoon, I'll make your wish come true and isekai you to the world of your dreams," the caller said cheerfully.

"Tch!" Unable to continue enduring the call's nonsense, Michael hung up aggressively.

"What a useless scammer! Soon he will be asking for money if I want to be isekai'd! Ptui!" Michael hissed.

He continued eating, and after some time, he entered his car and left for work.

He arrived at his workshop, opened his shop door, and stepped inside. The place was filled with equipment needed by digital designers and more.

"Welcome, boss!" one of his workers greeted.

It was Martin, his favourite among all his workers, because he was a fast learner and a very respectful guy.

"Good day, Martin. You're here early. What about the rest?" Michael asked.

"They are yet to arrive," Martin replied with a smile as he returned to his computer and continued his project.

"Tch! Those brats. Should I just sack them?" Michael said with slight annoyance.

"Haha! Boss, you don't have to go that far. They are trying their best compared to most youths their age," Martin said.

"I know. If it wasn't because of that, I would have sent them away," Michael replied. "Are you still working on that design you talked about?"

"Yes, boss."

"I told you such a thing is hard, but if you succeed, I can imagine you standing beside those celebrities," Michael said with a smile.

"You overpraise me, boss. Compared to you, I'm still not good enough."

"Throw that mentality away and think about your own freedom of design, and you will easily surpass me. Well, I'm going to my office. If anything happens, let me know."

Martin nodded as Michael walked into his office.

The day passed just as Michael predicted, another boring day.

He left his workshop, trying to find something that could satisfy his mind.

Watching anime would only give him more thoughts, which he was trying to avoid.

At a busy road, Michael sat on a public chair, watching people going about their lives.

He thought about his future and wondered if he would ever change his mindset and live like other people.

Marry, have kids, and grow old.

But just thinking about it made him feel bored of the future ahead of him.

And it was at that moment.

A young boy was about to cross the road without looking at the traffic lights, which had already turned green.

Cars and vans began moving again, and when a car was about to hit the boy, it hurriedly pressed its brakes and stopped abruptly, saving him. But there was a truck behind the car.

Because the truck driver couldn't brake fast enough, he turned the wheel hard and changed direction.

Michael, lost in his thoughts, didn't notice any of this or the people shouting. By the time he realised what was happening, the truck had already crashed into him along with the public chair.

BANG!!

Michael's head rang like a thousand bells as blood flowed from his head while he lay on the ground, staring at the afternoon sun.

His thoughts were chaotic, but he could still be saved if rushed to the hospital.

People immediately surrounded him, trying to help, but something strange happened.

Michael turned his head weakly to the side, trying to understand what was going on, but what he saw destroyed any chance of survival he had left.

The truck that hit him… gave him a dashing smile!

And Michael died on the spot from the shock.
