Chapter 3 - Lootboxes

"Good morning, Jarvis!"

...Good morning, Harry...

So I'm not crazy after all, and the system is with me. The first thing I did was go to the bathroom, but as I passed the mirror, I noticed something strange. There were no abrasions or bruises left from falling out of the tree a couple of days ago, and most importantly, I could see perfectly well without my glasses. The only thing that stood out was the scar on my forehead. It hadn't disappeared, and I suspect it has something to do with the fact that I got it when the system wasn't working properly. Okay, it's time to figure this out once and for all.

"Abilities"

...Active...

Soul Eater 2r. Allows you to absorb the soul outside a living creature's body and gain a random amount of the soul's characteristics (from 2 to 100%).

Barrier Lv. 1 (locked until the user reaches Lv. 10) opens a training barrier with the possibility of gaining experience and loot.

...Passive...

Inventory (Number of inventory slots = Int*Md, each slot is designed for 100 identical items)

Great Sage (+90% to magic learning speed, 90% to spell cost, spells do not require casting or any type of concentrator)

Player's body (you cannot be killed as long as you have health points)

Player's mind (Protection of the mind from any kind of interference, emotional protection)

Let's get to the most interesting part, what I have in my inventory, and take a look at the loot box I received.

"Inventory"

Supply box x1 (check your luck)

Come on, luck, don't let me down!

"Open supply box"

...The supply box is open, the following items have been obtained...

Archmage's Ring (can be used as a concentrator, increases spell damage by +100%, reduces spell cost by 50%, can be used as a port key (3 locations available, chosen by the user), cannot be lost or destroyed, binds to the owner's soul, can become invisible).

I touched the picture of this ring, and a magnificent black ring with blue veins and some kind of dark blue stone appeared on the middle finger of my right hand. It's just gorgeous, no matter how strong I become, it will always help me, and the teleportation feature is just great. And it looks so cool. At that moment, I imagined that it had disappeared, and I looked at my empty hand. I could feel the power it gave me, but I couldn't see or touch the ring itself.

"Jarvis, can I change the saved teleportation points for this ring?"

...Yes, you can replace the teleportation point, but to do so, you need to be in the place that will become the new point...

"Great, then tell me how to make my room a point?"

..."The room in the Dursleys' house" is saved as one of the teleportation points...

"Thanks, Jarvis."

Bottomless wallet (converts the currency of the world (country) where you are into gold coins and vice versa at the interworld exchange rate)

This thing will be very helpful to me. It appears that wherever I am, I will have the local currency, and it will be safer than any bank. I tried to imagine how this bag would end up in my hand.

...Harry, to use the wallet, you need to visualise the amount you want, and it will appear either in your hand or in the place you thought of...

Well, there's nothing I can do about that, because I don't have any money. Okay, let's keep going.

The Book of Random Summons (when studied, transports the user to another world where they can find their calling and familiars).

I thought about the book, and a worn book with the words "Random Summon" written in Russian appeared in my hand (mental control greatly facilitates the use of the system). At that moment, an inscription appeared before my eyes.

...Would you like to use the item?

"Jarvis, how safe is the place I'm being transported to, and how useful will the local creatures be?"

...When you use this book, you will be transported to a 100% safe place and also gain the skill "Summon 1." Well, of course, all summons are useful in one way or another, but it all depends on your luck, Harry...

I think that after studying the system, you can try your luck and find a summon for yourself.

"Jarvis, tell me, is this summoning spell the same as in Naruto?"

...It is, only in a simplified version...

"Then tell me, how can I use it if I don't have chakra?"

...Harry, you are a user of the system, and your "mana" parameter is a universal energy that automatically adapts to the world you are in...

That's really cool, so if I find a way to travel between worlds, I won't have to start levelling up all over again and fear for my life.

The book "Divine Language" (studying it gives you the "Divine Language" skill, allowing you to communicate with any intelligent being)

And another gift that will make my future life much easier... I would love to see the goblins in Gringotts and the troll that I hope is waiting for me in my first year.

A magical house key (creates a safe area for you to stay in; the appearance of the area will be created the first time you use it based on information stored in the user's memory; to use, insert the key into any keyhole and turn it once counterclockwise)

A key immediately appeared in my hand, well, like a key — more like a small strip of silver metal with a plastic handle. I can't say much about this key, I'll have to see what kind of space it is and how much I need it.

Second Life (allows the user to fully restore their life and mana after receiving fatal damage, applies automatically, disappears when used, cannot be removed from inventory).

Well, a second life is never superfluous, no questions asked.

Plumbus (standard plumbus)

It's standard, but why do I need it, and more importantly, what is it?

"Jarvis, can you tell me?"

...I have no idea...

Hmm...

And then my eyes rolled back into my head...

A pink hair clip (a bow-shaped hair clip that, when worn on the head, summons an unnamed being who can save you from any situation with the power of love, but it is unknown whether you will want to live in the world after his arrival).

Oh my god...

"JARVIS!!! WHAT IS THIS NIGHTMARE???"

...I'll pretend I didn't see that item, and I advise you to do the same...

Good advice, just what I needed. Nothing else fell on me, but even what I have is beyond praise. Okay, I need to calm down a bit and see what else Jarvis has in store for me.

"Map"

Nothing interesting here, a semi-transparent map appeared on the right side of my field of vision, showing the Dursleys' house and about 10 metres around it. There were three green dots in the house, with names above them indicating that they were the Dursleys.

"Tasks"

A completely empty window appeared before my eyes, which was not surprising, although I think I should soon expect guests who will help me fill it.

"Group menu"

...This feature is unavailable until another intelligent being is accepted into your group...

Eh, I didn't really want to see what was there (

And now for the most interesting part.

"Shop"

A window popped up again with a bunch of different options, everything from toilet paper to an atomic bomb or eternal mangekyō sharingan. And in the upper right corner, the number 995 was lit up.

"Jarvis, am I getting currency for the shop by consuming souls?"

...That's right, the total number of absorbed characteristics is counted as currency in your account...

Mmm... now I want to go to Hogwarts even more... because there are so many ghosts there who want to help poor children. To be honest, I'm not going to buy anything yet, I want to level up on my own first.

There was a knock on my door.

"Come down for breakfast, boy," Vernon shouted.

But when I opened the door, he looked at me and started blushing and shouting.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE AGAIN? It's that damn abnormality of yours again. Where did all the scrapes go?

"Vernon, what are you shouting about?" said Aunt Petunia from downstairs."Damn boy, he's done something again, and I have no idea how we're going to get him to the doctor now.

And yes, there was a slight deviation from the canon here; the Dursleys don't hate me that much, they don't make me live in a cupboard under the stairs. I think it's because I didn't have any spontaneous outbursts like the canonical Harry, I didn't set the curtains on fire, and I didn't do anything that would warrant being sent to live in such spartan conditions.

"Vernon, don't yell at him, at least we won't have to waste time taking him to the doctor.

"That's true," said Vernon, turning towards the stairs and going down, while I trailed after him to breakfast.

Breakfast passed peacefully, and I decided to test some of my new items. My aunt, uncle, and Dudley got ready and went shopping, while I went to my room to do some research. I decided to use the key first. I inserted it into my door and turned it.
