Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Female Heterochromatic Cursed Spirit

At that moment, a girl appeared at the very center of the clouds.

Her black twin tails hung down over her shoulders. Her limbs were so slender it felt as if the slightest force might snap them. Her right eye was a deep wine red, while her left eye carried the pattern of a clock in its pupil. Her lips were soft and delicate like cherry blossom petals, and there was a devilish allure in her gaze, which could capture a man's heart with a single shared look. Her skin was as pale and smooth as polished pearl.

There was no doubt that she was Satoru's target this time.

The most vicious cursed spirit, the one that had toyed with sorcerers again and again.

"What an unbelievable one we've got here."

Shun's dark irises had, at some point, already shifted into a hazy, mist like shade of azure. The lazy aura that usually clung to him vanished in an instant.

Right now, he could stand shoulder to shoulder with the strongest uncle beside him.

Those eyes were called the Six Eyes.

They were a hereditary trait of the Gojo clan, an inherited anomaly that appeared only once in several hundred years. Six Eyes granted three hundred and sixty degree long distance vision, letting the user see even behind their back, and see clearly across extreme distances. They could instantly distinguish whether someone was a sorcerer, see through the nature of the opponent's technique, and directly trace the flow and trajectory of their cursed energy, predicting its movements. They allowed the bearer to perform delicate and precise control over cursed energy, a necessary prerequisite for using the Limitless technique. Even obstructing the line of sight could not truly hinder what those eyes perceived.

In this era, Gojo Satoru had been the only one born naturally with them. Yet because of some accident during his childhood, Shun had somehow awakened the same eyes.

Right now, in his vision, all the cursed energy swirling around that distant spirit, along with countless strands of information, flowed straight into his brain.

Shun's expression grew a little more serious.

"Uncle, this mission target is kind of annoying."

After absorbing the information, he finally understood why this cursed spirit had managed to slaughter so many sorcerers who came to exorcise her. At the same time, he noticed something else.

The curse in the distance had not actually reached the true level of a special grade.

To pull off her record so far, she was relying almost entirely on technique.

Sigh... what a hassle. I should just run.

"Uncle, let's go. I'll treat you to sweets, how about it?"

Shun pulled out Satoru's greatest weakness.

"Really?"

Satoru immediately leaned in, all fired up, as if he had been completely persuaded in an instant.

Shun nodded in solemn promise.

"Yeah. I heard Sendai has some really famous desserts. Let's hurry and go."

"Then let's get going." Satoru started like that, then suddenly switched tone halfway through and shouted, "Shun! You really think your uncle would sell out his dignity that easily?!"

"Ah..."

Shun's head started to hurt.

"In the face of danger, how could we sorcerers ever flee the battlefield?!" Satoru suddenly grew righteously indignant. "Behind us stand our families, our homes."

"If we run away, who is going to stop the bad guys?"

"Shun!"

"Where is your resolve?"

Satoru grabbed Shun's shoulders and shook him back and forth.

"Your uncle does not remember raising you into this kind of kid!"

He looked absolutely heartbroken.

Shun rolled his eyes and let out a cold little laugh.

"Hehe..."

He knew exactly what his uncle was really like. After all, he had been raised by Gojo Satoru himself. There was no way he could not tell when this man was being serious and when he was just messing around.

"So you are not planning to eat dessert anymore?"

Shun had the feeling his uncle had dragged him here for no good reason at all. His plan was to use dessert as bait, get Satoru to handle the cursed spirit quickly, and avoid any unexpected disasters from dragging on.

"Of course I am going to eat it."

Satoru let go of him, and his expression changed again.

A full blown drama king.

"So, I will leave this to you. Uncle is going to buy dessert first."

He patted Shun on the shoulder, then casually fired off a condensed ball of cursed energy at the cursed spirit hovering in the sky.

"...????"

Shun stared, eyes wide.

Uncle, what are you doing.

The corners of Satoru's mouth curled up wildly.

"See you later, my adorable nephew."

With that, his entire figure vanished from where he stood.

Teleporting like this was child's play for him. And for Shun, trying to grab hold of the man who was basically the ceiling of the whole jujutsu world was simply impossible.

In fact, nobody could do that.

Shun's face was full of disbelief.

"Uncle, that is just cruel."

By this time, the cursed energy ball Satoru had launched had already struck the cursed spirit in the sky. Of course, that orb had been purely for drawing aggro, completely devoid of actual offensive power.

The spirit slowly turned around and gazed down at Shun.

He gave a dry, awkward laugh and called out to the curse staring his way.

"So... the one who hit you just now was my uncle, not me. How about you go look for him instead?"

Obviously, the cursed spirit had no intention of listening.

A sharp crack rang out.

With a gunshot like snap, a bullet infused with immense cursed energy shot straight at Shun.

"Can you cursed spirits not listen to people for once?!"

He shouted in helpless frustration. As he yelled, his body seemed to shift only the tiniest bit.

If one looked carefully, it almost seemed like he had not moved at all.

The bullet skimmed past, grazing just the tips of his hair.

"Hm?"

The cursed spirit at the center of the clouds let out a questioning sound.

Why... had the bullet not hit that human?
