Chapter 4 - Chapter4-Unique Hidden Class — Burstshot God

Under the terrified gazes of the remaining Beast-Turned, Daniel slowly raised his bow.

Whoosh!

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...!

Arrows poured out like they cost nothing at all. And among that endless barrage, every now and then, one would strike a monster with perfect precision.

Boom!

Boom boom boom...!

The explosions came one after another without end, lighting up the entire street with fire.

By the time the smoke cleared, the alley was left with nothing but chunks of flesh and a few smoking craters.

[Ding! You have slain Beast-Turned ×7... Your level has risen to: Level 10]

Daniel glanced at his EXP bar, then at the wreckage all over the ground. Scattered here and there were three pieces of white- and green-grade equipment.

He couldn't help but whistle.

This efficiency...

In his previous life, he wouldn't have dared dream of something like this.

[Ding! Obtained Common-grade Weapon: Greatsword ×1, Bronze-grade Magic Staff ×1, Bronze-grade Gauntlets ×1]

Daniel picked up the dropped equipment.

At this stage of the game, Bronze-grade gear was still hard currency. There was no need to worry about selling it.

He opened the map to confirm his direction, then carried his bow deeper into town.

The explosions never stopped along the way.

If he ran into a lone monster, one arrow was enough, no matter what level it was.

If he ran into groups of three or five, a single shot could blast through the whole pack. Ten arrows later, both monsters and walls alike would be reduced to rubble.

The more Daniel fought, the smoother it felt.

Once he got into rhythm, he even started showing off a little.

One arrow pierced through three monsters, making all three explode together.

Or he would deliberately use ground blasts to launch clusters of monsters into the air.

Half an hour later, he was already standing beside the fountain in the center of town.

[Level: 20]

He evenly distributed the newly gained 150 attribute points among Strength, Intelligence, Constitution, and Agility.

Including the base ten points in each stat, his four core attributes now looked like this:

[Strength: 45]

[Intelligence: 45]

[Agility: 105]

[Constitution: 45]

Aside from Agility, the exclusive primary stat for Archers, Daniel did not underestimate the other three at all.

Knowing how the future would unfold, he understood perfectly well that every stat had an important role to play.

After all, in the future, these attribute points would affect his real body as well.

Daniel checked the time.

11:50 AM.

Ten minutes left.

That was right—one of the reasons he had accepted this quest was to claim Adrian's hidden questline and rewards.

But there was another purpose as well.

A Wandering Merchant would spawn here!

The items sold by this kind of merchant were mostly basic supplies, but on very rare occasions, they could carry truly valuable goods.

Some people had even once found Legendary-grade items in a Wandering Merchant's stock!

Normally, merchants like these did not spawn at any fixed location.

But during the current newbie period, this one was guaranteed to appear in Windmill Town.

Once the number of players entering Windmill Town exceeded one hundred, his spawn point would no longer remain fixed.

And the reason Daniel was waiting for him...

Was because there was a very high chance the merchant would be selling a Class Awakening Scroll.

In his previous life, Daniel had come here specifically to verify this, and sure enough, he had indeed found that Class Awakening Scroll in the merchant's inventory.

Roar!

Right then, a series of low growls rose from the fog.

Daniel swept his gaze around the fountain.

Shadows of monsters loomed everywhere in the mist.

The nearest few had already noticed him, baring their fangs as they crept closer.

Daniel rolled his neck, then raised his bow.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

Whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh...

For the next ten minutes, the center of Windmill Town sounded like a warzone. Explosions came wave after wave, and flames shot into the sky.

If nearby players could have seen this scene, they probably would have suspected the game had bugged out.

11:59 AM.

As the final monster fell, Daniel put away his bow and looked toward the fountain.

The next second, the air suddenly warped.

A middle-aged man in a tattered cloak appeared out of nowhere.

He pushed a small cart piled high with assorted goods and stood smiling beside the fountain.

[Wandering Merchant · Marcus]

"Heh, looks like you came right on time, friend."

Marcus narrowed his eyes as he sized Daniel up.

"A little guy at Level 20, and you managed to stay alive here? Not bad."

Daniel didn't waste words with him and directly opened the shop list.

Inside were stacks of potions and materials, all with unlimited purchase quantities.

In the limited-purchase section, he saw an Iron-grade Warrior Armor, a bottle of Rare MP Potion, and even a Silver-grade Arcane Staff.

If he could buy and resell those, he didn't even dare imagine what kind of return he might get.

But unfortunately, the limited-purchase section allowed him to buy only one item.

And his real target was not the staff.

At the very end of that section, he saw a roll of parchment.

[Universal Class Awakening Scroll · B-rank]

Price: 100 Gold Coins

Description: An utterly ordinary Class Awakening Scroll. Upon use, it will randomly Class Change the user into a special Class corresponding to their current Class.]

Utterly ordinary.

Daniel said nothing, but this item only looked random on the surface.

In truth, it was the only item in the early game that had a chance of producing a top-tier Class.

The catch was that the probability was absurdly low—99.99% of the time, it would only turn into some ordinary special class.

Rather than waste that much money on such terrible odds, most players would rather just go to the village chief in Starter Village and get a free class advancement.

That was why nobody ever bought it.

But Daniel...

Didn't need probability.

He directly clicked Purchase.

[Gold Coins -100]

Marcus's eyes lit up.

"Oh? A decisive customer!"

Daniel took the scroll, but instead of using it immediately, he looked up and asked,

"Boss, do you buy things too?"

Marcus froze for a second, then nodded.

"Sure. What, you've got something good?"

Daniel handed the scroll he had just bought right back over.

"This."

Marcus looked at it, and his expression turned a little strange.

"Items sold here can't be refunded."

"Of course. I'm not asking for a refund. I'm selling it to you."

"You bought it just to sell it?"

Seeing Daniel nod without hesitation, Marcus's mind went into chaos.

This guy...

Was he mentally ill?

"...Fine. Buyback price: 10 Gold Coins."

The transaction was completed.

[Ding! Detected sold item: Universal Class Awakening Scroll. Sale price: 10 Gold Coins. Millionfold Boost activated!]

[Ding! Obtained: Gold Coins ×10,000,000!]

[Player selected Quality Boost. Returned corresponding item: Burstshot God Class Awakening Scroll (Unique)]

A red scroll instantly appeared in his inventory.

Marcus stared at the scroll in his own hand, then at Daniel, his face full of disbelief.

Daniel had no mood to pay attention to him. He impatiently opened the red scroll in his inventory.

In the world of Stellar, Classes were clearly ranked in strength:

F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS!

But beyond those, there existed even rarer Classes:

Unique, Supreme-grade, and God-grade Classes!

Each of those three categories was unique in existence, impossible to seek by force, and every single one possessed overwhelming power.

Just thinking about how a B-rank Universal Scroll had turned into a Unique-grade Class Awakening Scroll simply by reselling it made Daniel's heart surge with joy.

[Ding! You have used Burstshot God Class Awakening Scroll (Unique)]

[Beginning Class Change...]

[Congratulations! You have Class Changed into Unique Hidden Class: Burstshot God!]

[Class Traits:]

[- All bow skill damage +1000%]

[- Range +500%]

[- Critical Rate +300%]

[- Arrows can ignore armor and resistance, piercing through targets]

[- All arrows gain explosive effects, Explosion Core Damage +1000%]

[- Attribute points gained per level: 10 → 20]

Daniel's eyelid twitched as he read the last line.

20 attribute points per level?

So if other people gained 10 points per level, then every level-up for him was equal to two levels for everyone else?

Nearby, Marcus the Wandering Merchant was still muttering to himself.

"How strange... where the hell did this nouveau riche come from..."

Shaking his head, he pushed his cart onward and quickly disappeared into the fog.

Daniel took a deep breath and felt power surging through his body.

He looked up and saw a monster crouched on a rooftop in the distance, looking around warily.

He raised his hand and fired a single arrow.

The arrow turned into a streak of light, pierced straight through the monster's chest, then buried itself into the head of the second monster behind it—

And then two explosions rang out almost at the same time.

Boom! Boom!

The two monsters were blasted directly into pieces!

[Ding! You have slain Wolf-type Beast-Turned ×2. Gained 1800 EXP!]
